Mission: The State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration manages over 3 million acres of trust lands for the benefit of Utah's public schools. Income from the management of these trust lands is deposited into the permanent State School Fund. This fund is constitutionally protected in order to ensure that its earnings are distributed to Utah's schools on an annual basis. In 1996, the Constitution of the State of Utah was amended in order to allow bequests and donations to the permanent State School Fund. The permanent State School Fund is currently worth over $270 million.
