Causes: Education, Two-Year Colleges
Mission: St. Augustine college is an independent, bilingual (dual-language) institution of higher education created under the auspices of the episcopal diocese to make the american system of higher education accessible to a diverse student population with emphasis on those of hispanic descent; to strengthen ethnic identity; to reinforce cultural interaction; and to build a bridge to fill cultural, educational, and socio-economic gaps.
Programs: Instruction - provides a formal educational curriculum in several academic disciplines and includes activities that are part of our instruction departments, including those for credit and noncredit courses, academic and technical instruction. A fully accredited not-for-profit private college that awards bachelor of arts, associate of arts, and associate of applied science degrees. Undergraduate classes are provided for an enrollment of 1,959 students seeking to obtain a college degree. In fiscal year 2017, the college awarded 299 degrees.
head start support services - provides professional development, training and technical assistance to chicago / early head start delegate agencies and their respective sites. Major professional development initiatives will be largely based upon the education domains in alignment class instrument, the creative curriculum, tsi gold, school readiness goals and other pertinent areas. Also works with the chicago dfss - office of children's services; the chicago public schools, inccrra/gateways to opportunities, isbe, as well as other entities.
student services - provides a variety of supportive services to the student body, including the expenses of admissions, registrar, financial aid, advising/tutoring, and other activities contributing to the students' emotional/physical well-being and social development outside of formal instruction.
