I was in a really low place earlier this year with the pandemic. When I found NoStigmas, my life changed. I've had a lot of growth this year, and I have Jacob and the team to thank.
Through NoStigmas, I have both received and given support in a way that is truly special. I believe lived experience is the strongest human connector, and since 2013 I have seen first-hand how impactful peer support has been for living in recovery!
NoStigmas came into my life a few months ago and I am better for it. Jacob Moore has created a strong but gentle voice in an otherwise absent conversation. Through the organization, I have met incredible people with even more incredible stories. Much like many others, my story is one where I felt very alone. My healing process was slow and lonely, which often added to the anxiety and magnified the issues. While I learned to become my own friend/ally, I really could have benefited from the support of a community like NoStigmas. We have all been touched by mental illness on some level, and NoStigmas is giving us the opportunity to both reach out and also be helped. I support this organization with my whole heart and I'm excited to see how it develops! I highly suggest anyone reading this to get involved and witness just how kind we can be to one another.
NoStigmas offers peer support in positive, accessible ways that may benefit anyone. This organization can help communities thrive, especially in this physically distant time.
Vital to eliminate stigma around mental illness - and more, to promote understanding that mental and physical health are not separate, but inextricably connected, and impactful on one another.
NoStigmas has been a great source for me for mental health support! I love having them in my news feeds for everything from simple little daily tips, to relevant and up to date info and articles on mental health
I started following NAMI on social media as I noticed their content was inspiring and made me feel mike I was not alone. I have used some of their articles to share at work as I counsel people.
I support NoStigmas because of the peer to peer outreach it provides. This approach needs to be mainstream, and I hope this helps it get there. I had the honor of attending a charity dinner in December 2019 for NoStigmas (see pics attached) and hearing founder, Jacob Moore, speak. I was impressed, and I look forward to seeing more from this important organization. -Maria Wasikowski
I have partnered with this nonprofit to put on a yoga event the other year. It was so great working with this nonprofit as they are committed to bringing awareness to others about the importance of mental health. They spoke to the yoga students about mental health and provided great tools and information. This is one of my favorite organizations because they share so many resources.
I love all of the insight and information that this group provides to help me live my best life in recovery from mental health issues.
Nostigmas is spreading the word! You are not alone and it is ok to talk about mental health. Great ally training program and live trainings.
Nostigmas provides great resources, allowing people to connect and strengthen each other through shared struggles and victories. The Ally program empowers through education and training. By giving people a means to express their stories, their way, NoStigmas gives a much needed voice to those that live with mental health issues, helping to fight the stigmas that surround mental illness and suicide.
I am working towards becoming a volunteer with this nonprofit and love their mission of ending the stigma of living with mental health issues. It is truly an inclusive organization with caring people in charge.
Tremendous educational venue. We all need more awareness of mental health issues and how our loved ones and member of society at large are affected by the symptoms. There needs to be many, many stories being told of how families are affected and how those with mental health issues are coping.
This organization has been an incredible source of community and sharing for me and my friends and family. I think suicide prevention and mental health awareness is only becoming more prevalent and the need to make it unstigmatized is bigger than ever. Thank you to NoStigmas for providing a safe place for us to make what we commonly tend to think are uncomfortable topics, normal.
This organization has helped me get through some of the worst times and the support from the NoStigmas team and community is ever-growing, loving and supportive. I recommend them to everyone I know.
Great team that gives lots of useful information! The lessons in the Ally Training are beneficial for anyone.
NoStigmas has helped many people across the nation feel normal for having a mental illness. Without their powerful message, I wouldn’t have opened up about my depression and anxiety. Also, NoStigmas has helped me to share my story. They mailed me stickers, handouts, and informational pamphlets for my event. They also have amazing opportunities within this organization. On their website, they have volunteer opportunities, an option to share your own story, fundraising opportunities, and so much more. If you ever get the chance to work with NoStigmas, do so, because it will be one of the best experiences you’ve ever had. Their team is amazing, their website is amazing, their mission is amazing, and NoStigmas is undoubtedly amazing.
I find No Stigmas particularly helpful if you are going through a crisis or hard time and do not want to bother friends or family with the issue. It is a great option for getting advice or information as sometimes friends and family are not equipped or able to help. Just others sharing their experiences with mental illness has been so helpful and provided insight. Especially seeing so many people on this forum in school, relationships and working. Helping to break the stigma of typical prognosis for some of the labels given. It was also nice to see others open about the labels they were given by doctors. And how they overcome the stigma of those labels in day to day life. Also being on a forum where others take psychotropic meds or have had experience getting off of them has been very helpful. By using this forum I can focus on other topics with my family and friends so that my illness does not define who I am with those relationships.
An organization and community full of people who truly do not judge others!
Jake from NoStigmas courageously shares his story to help others believe recovery is possible. I have seen a wide range in his reach to share his message. Whether it be at a private event or while speaking with inmates he reiterates that mental illnesses and suicide do not discriminate. Jake is an inspiration and I believe in his goal for a world that has NoStigmas.
This organization is such a powerful example of how passionate volunteers can come together to change the world. There is a place for everyone at any capacity, and it’s an honor to be part of the important work they’re doing.
I love the approach that NoStigmas take to reach people in need of help with their emotional problems. My experience has been limited to personal ones involving two of their staff. They both were great at helping me understand that my approach to emotional
To me, No Stigma represents our everyday fight against stigma. Even though when I think of Stigma, I equate it to mental illness, they deal with Stigmas from all walks of light. The staff is knowledgeable and their articles express how things affect them and their caretakers directly
I have sent many friends and anyone dealing with depression to their site and have heard great comments back from them. They didn't feel preached at nor judged. I feel with all the negativity in the world today people need to know there is a way out rather than suicide.
An amazing outlet for mental health education and assistance when needed. I've become more active in the whole system because I am on a solo journey of healing my emtional disorders, Anxiety and Depression.
Thank you for No Stigmas, it is the best.
I was involved in a terrible domestic violence accident where I was pushed into glass and ended up with 800 stitches in my knee. After that I sought counseling for PTSD and years later discovered I am bipolar. I am now properly medicated and fully functional. When I found no stigmas I felt like it was the perfect concept for someone like me, who has had two things happen (domestic violence and bipolar) that have a lot of shame and stigma associated. I am grateful for the community of people who understand mental illness and abuse.
No one should have to face it alone! There’s people who get it at NoStigmas.
I have simply not encountered another organization like NoStigmas, and this is extended to the people who make it all happen. No one cares more about mental health than the folks at NoStigmas, and everyone works tirelessly to bring awareness and provide for the community.
NoStigmas has become a home for my mental health. Prior to finding NoStigmas, I felt alone in my mental health journey. NoStigmas has provided a space for me to be open about my experiences and has gifted me with a peer support community that has made a difference my ability to manage my mental health conditions.
NoStigmas is a wonderful organization. By promoting ways to maintain brain health, it allows communities to prevent/reduce mental health and substance use disorders.
This nonprofit has been a huge source of support and community for me. When you’re struggling with mental health, it can be the most isolating thing in the world to experience. All it takes is one person to say “it’s okay, don’t be ashamed to talk to me” to change everything
Such an amazing nonprofit that supports and brings awareness to Mental Health. #NoStigmas
NoStigmas has given me the confidence to share my own mental health struggles with my loved ones and my community. Having a place where I know I am understood and respected has made a world of difference in my life.
NoStigmas has been revolutionary in my mental health. finding a community of people who understand my struggles and I can always turn to through the virtual connections has made my own burdens easier to bear.
Not only that, but I've loved getting work volunteer with them. The team is so kind and responsive and I feel like I've been able to really learn how to better assist others.
I facilitated an art therapy workshop for No Stigmas and was very impressed with the staff, the space, the mission and ability to bring in people who really wanted to engage in art therapy and found the experience to be meaningful to them. It was a great opportunity to offer a service to those in need and to normalize the experience of using art to express oneself and support one another through life. I would work with them again with no reservations!
As we state in our Mission Statement, NoStigmas' goal is to raise awareness and erase the stigmas about suicide and mental illness through education about about mental health, helping those affected by mental illness, and sharing inspiring stories of hope so that those struggling may understand that they are not alone. Our board members, volunteers, and followers, together foster a community environment in which individuals with mental illness are able seek treatment with the support of those near to them.
Shifting the pay mental wellness is perceived is certainly a challenge. We believe that one by one, though, we can change how mental wellness perceived and and the same time help those seeking care through our resources. We rely on our growing community to educate individuals who become advocates for understanding through their day-to-day interactions.
If we manage to help even one person who is struggling our mission has been successful. However, we won't stop with just one.
As a mental health advocate myself, I rely on the great information that No Stigmas shares with me. They are truly helping to break down the barriers around mental health stigma.
NoStigmas is made up of an excellent team of individuals whose passions lie in giving back to their community by connecting those in need with mental health resources. I've never met a group of people so philanthropically inclined to give their time and money for the greater good of bettering the lives of others. Their volunteers are constantly posting in online arenas and hosting events and fundraisers to get the word about their organization out to reach people from all over the country!
NOSTIGMAS raises awareness and helps people become educated and informed about mental health. Finally, an organization is attempting to change the paradigm people view mental health in. Breaking the barriers of the stigmas that cloud people with mental health. A great organization with an amazing mission.
The name says it all! NoStigmas successfully reaches a broad part of the population with an important and gentle message.
NOSTIGMAS is ahead of the field. They not only raise awareness but help people in need. Mental Health is something that needs to be treated head on and NOSTIGMAS is the first of its kind to do this. The more people know about NOSTIGMAS the more help can be given. We need to break down the negative barriers and confront mental health issues in a positive way.
They help educate the general public on mental illnes, which begins to break down barriers and unsubstantiated fears.
NoStigmas connects with people on a personal level that most organizations fail to reach. This is reflected in their peer focus and in the efforts they make to share stories of positivity and hope. NoStigmas provides a platform for inspiration and deserves recognition as an influential grassroots movement. The stigmas surrounding suicide and mental illness are real and it will take a community-wide effort to break them down entirely.
With "No Stigmas" some times the best stories are the ones that are not yet told. They are helping in ways that go to the very core of health and wellness. Bing on the front line of service is front edge of service means the leading edge of technology. NoStigmas is constantly building its organization and the strong foundation to rise up to meet its important mission.
An excellent Non-Profit that has had tremendous impact on so many lives.
Hopefully others will see fit to donate to this wonderful organization.
NoStigmas is doing something for the community that I have not seen other organizations tackle. Society is long overdue for this push to remove the stigmas surrounding mental illness, creating a healthy place for conversation and healing. I can only hope others follow suit and that NoStigmas' reach continues to be far and wide!
No one will ever fully understand the impact that NOStigmas has had in my life. Having gone through my own battle with mental illness, I have never felt more empowered and determined to help spread the word of how this organization is making a difference. I am no longer ashamed of my past and I hope to encourage others to come forward and seek the help they need. NOStigmas.org is loaded with valuable information including an excellent Resource Directory and a blog with very inspiring stories. I am thankful to be a volunteer and Stigma Eraser. This organization made me aware that helping others has enormous benefits. I can’t wait until their peer mentorship program is finally launched. It’s going to be huge!
No Stigmas is a phenomenal organization. We need to be able to let more people know that they exist.
I have been sharing No Stigmas information every chance I get. We would be a much better world if we did. A couple of years ago I lead a student group at my college campus to raise awareness of returning veteran's issues with the purpos of erasing stigmas around the mental health and suicide issues. Since that time that same group has been having a Stigma Erasing awareness event where the volunteers wear shirts of a Stigma they used to have. Their goal was to connect a face to people that struggled with someone at sometime with something that was very stigmatizing. This is a ripple effect of No Stigmas work. People are having great conversations and their awareness is being raised. It's my hope that No Stigmas would be just as well known as the Red Cross one day.
