The program also incorporates educating the public on the spca mission through churches, scout troops, schools, volunteer programs, news media, website, and public fundraising events that highlight the spca's mission.
spay/neuter program (program includes educational and outreach components)the spay/neuter program incorporates 3 major components: 1) the oh snap component is designed to have all sheltered animals spayed or neutered before they are adopted. 2) a coupon component is used to handle animals that cannot be spayed or neutered before adoption. An adopter presents the discount coupon to the veterinarian of their choice when the animal is presented. The spca then pays the veterinarian when the coupon is returned. 3) an additional program uses a specific low-cost clinic to provide spay and neuter service. The spay/neuter program is promoted through the general media sources used by the spca and annual targeted events.
