Mission: Teach and mentor music to underdeserved youth
Programs: Were a music education organization that teaches, mentors, and provides musical experiences and opportunities for underserved youth. In the pass year we were able to support 150 students in our community and strings programs.
we exposed an additional 4,000 students to musical experiences through live performances and our instrument petting zoos.
we were able to give 30,000 in scholarships as we continue our goal to provide tuition free music education to families that fall within 150 of the federal poverty level.
we gave scholarships for students to participate in the sounds academys composition camp, west valley youth orchestras chamber music camp, and the curry summer music institute at northern arizona university.
we also gave a scholarship for a student to shadow a music therapist, a performer, and a doctor. We were able to see ms. Kowalski make her decision to attend nau this fall on scholarship.
100 of the students who graduate from our strings program now attend a college or university to pursue degrees in music education, performance, and even biology
we added guitar as an instrument for students to select, two more locations, and three more teaching artists.
this means that we are introducing more children to music educational programs that have proven to help children with self-esteem, perseverance, and focus.
