Mission: The philosophy, i.e. mission, of St. John Villa is to serve young men and women of the local communities of Staten Island and Brooklyn. The Academys faculty aims to instill in each student the acceptance of responsibility for his or her own individuality and self-worth. Therefore, the School community seeks to foster awareness of ones relationship with themselves, with others and with God. It strives to widen the horizons of the student to help them become aware of the needs of society and their potential to effect greater justice in that society. Against this background the School offers education that balances religious, academic, social and physical development. It is the Sisters vision that this philosophy will prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century.
