Programs: Educational tools and transitional object:the simms/mann institute developed and marketed consumer product called the cuddlebright experience, a unique science-based resource kit that helps parents bond with their child and give them meaningful, mutually rewarding experiences. It includes four components that work to build the parent-child relationship and lay the foundation for a baby's healthy social, emotional and cognitive development. Cuddlebright experience was also provided free of cost to pediatric nicus and a number of nonprofit partners who work with vulnerable populations. Simms/mann institute think tank: the simms/mann think tank is an annual convening of leading neuroscientists from around the world who present to-and engage with-a select group of 500 stakeholders who can directly impact policy and practice in early child development. Researchers showcase cutting-edge science related to children ages 0-3 for leaders from fields including education, medicine, business and philanthropy, who can immediately incorporate the research in their work with children, families and communities. The think tank also recognizes the contributions of leaders in the fields of medicine and education through its whole child award program, and introduces the newest cohorts of simms/mann institute fellows.
