The Ark is an internationally revered non-profit music venue that has grown from its roots as a Church run Coffeehouse in 1965 to the approximately 400 hundred seat intimate listening room and music club that it is today. The venue is now located on Main Street in the heart of Ann Arbor, MI

Dave Siglin joined The Ark in 1969 as the Manager and in the late 1970's, The Ark became incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) organization in the State of Michigan. Between 1969 and 1996 and with the permission of the artists, Dave taped over 3000 hours of live performances through the sound boards at the venue. He maintained the tapes of historic and compelling performances with the vision that they would be shared as a priceless history of the roots and growth of Americana music.

The Siglin Music Preservation Fund was created to fund The Ark Legacy Project which is an exciting project that is digitizing these priceless tapes with Dave's passionate guidance and the participation of experts, archivists, and music enthusiasts.

In order to bring the project from the original tapes to a site where the music is accessible to those who study music history and those who enjoy the artists, we must raise at least $70,000. The money will be used to employ digitalization experts, archivists, an individual to conduct interviews with the performers or their family, a website developer to update and maintain the internet presence and to fund any necessary materials or subscriptions.

The Board of Directors is extremely excited and devoted to seeing The Ark Legacy project to its fruition. We look forward to your joining us and passing the word!!

Your donation of any amount is so appreciated and is tax-deductible!
