Programs: Seattle international film festival (siff) celebrates the culture and art of the moving image through filmmaking and film-going experiences of exceptional merit and diversity that inform, educate, and entertain. The principal objectives and goals of siff include promoting film as a medium that fosters cross-cultural communication, education, and international understanding. The cultural impact of these objectives is perhaps more important today than ever before, and siff takes a leadership role in providing an extensive forum for multicultural exchange, inspiration and enlightenment for the people of the pacific northwest. Siff provides year-round programming at siff cinema uptown, a three screen theater, as well as programming a fourth screen in the siff film center. The cinema is outfitted with state-of-the-art projection and sound technologies. Approximately 148,854 attended siff cinema during the year ending december 31, 2016. Siff also produces an annual film festival over 25 days. In 2016, we showcased over 450 films from 92 countries in eight venues in the puget sound area. Over 155,000 people attended. Siff's catalyst, crash & futurewave education programs and camps reached over 12,000 attendees and students in 2016.
