Mission: The seattle architecture foundation connects people to the architecture, design and history of seattle. We provide entertaining workshops, dynamic tours, educational seminars and enthusiastic community advocacy. Through our programs and civic engagement, saf will empower you to make a difference in your community.
Programs: Saf offered over 160 walking tours, serving more than 2,000 locals and visitors of all ages and backgrounds in 2016. These tours build appreciation for the built environment and share seattle's rich cultural history.
more than 600 youth participated in engaging programs that offered hands-on learning opportunities to shape their own communities and develop solutions to pressing social issues. Youth are matched with volunteer architects to learn more about the field and build an understanding of career options in the field. Programs are offered year-round and are provided in schools and hosted in architectural firms. Programs were provided in seattle public schools and at several locations throughout seattle. Saf waives the fee to participate, so youth from all backgrounds can participate regardless of ability to pay.
