In 2010 when San Diego City Council was considering remodeling the Former Athletic Club at 6th and A to provide housing and services for homeless people, the Downtown Fellowship of Churches and Ministries appeared before the Land Use and Housing Committee and the City council, to advocate for "Connections Housing" and the "People Assisting The Homeless" (PATH) organization. When approved and built, the Downtown Fellowship provided on-site assistance and encouragement to tenants; Celebrate Recovery meetings; Bible Study and served on PATH's Neighborhood Advisory commity.
