Fulfilling Destiny

Fulfilling Destiny is a great non-profit organization that supports and empowers all period-havers. Period poverty is an important topic yet it is constantly being overlooked. This outstanding non-profit helps support those experiencing homelessness by distributing menstrual products every month to those in need. My fellow team members are so kind, helpful, and give you the freedom to do what YOU want to do for your internship/volunteer work. There is a lot of room to grow in Fulfilling Destiny and the support system is incredible. I am so proud and blessed to be part of this non-profit organization. I am also very thankful to be working alongside womxn that want to make a change within the community of San Diego, Oceanside, and San Jose.

I joined this organization in August 2020 after researching non profits in San Diego that address some aspect of reproductive rights. I have been so thankful to have found this organization. Even though they are smaller, it allows for a deep rooted comradery and a lot of one-on-one guidance not only for the internship project, but for the day by day. Everyone is incredible to work with and as an organization, they give you a lot of freedom to pick and choose what your internship project looks like. While it is daunting at first, it challenges your creativity, leadership, ability to communicate and collaborate, etc and the staff never fails to make you feel supported. I feel like the skills that get polished from finishing philanthropy projects are invaluable as is the experience itself. You learn not only from other interns, but from the staff, and even the community you serve. It is truly a wonderful experience and I hope to continue to grow and expand as a volunteer in the organization.

Fulfilling Destiny is a great organization that provides people with menstrual products that they otherwise lack access to. Being able to access these products is a privilege I never thought about until I learned about their outreach and volunteered at a packing party with them. I love what they stand for and the work they put in to give these products to people that need them!

Fulfilling Destiny is an amazing outreach organization. I am happy to be a part of a team that is dedicated to ending period poverty, from providing essential menstrual products to addressing the stigmas of menstruation. Period poverty is a health disparity that is oftentimes overlooked. Fulfilling Destiny not only shines a light on this issue but also strives to create change in the San Diego community and beyond. The passion and commitment to incite positive change for reproductive health are evident. In addition, the Fulfilling Destiny team is inspiring, uplifting, and always willing to provide a helping hand. I deeply appreciate the organization’s efforts to be more inclusive, by using the terms “menstruators” and/or “those who menstruate.” It is important to allow everyone who menstruates to feel seen, included, and embraced. The work of the Fulfilling Destiny family is fundamental and rooted in equity for all. I am inspired by the continuous dedication to carry out the organization's mission to empower those facing homelessness to have their period with dignity. I am grateful to volunteer with Fulfilling Destiny and contribute to accomplishing this mission!

Their staff and their mission has been awe-inspiring with their journey to make menstrual products more accessible to homelessness communities. I was introduce to this company by my younger sister who is currently a staff member. At that point of time, I had no thought of how women and children struggle to meet their menstrual needs every month while also debating whether one can eat or drink under the hot sun or the cold of night. After our conversation and driving by areas that had hot spots of homeless people, I felt feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and shame that I should've been more mindful of what was happening around communities that I worked in. With that in mind, I proceeded to involve myself as much as I can, by listening to my sister's stories about her volunteerism, by starting my own fundraisers to spread the news, and now, by working alongside my sister for this organization she introduced to me. This organization opened my eyes to see the additional struggles that poverty can impact women, and this organization I believe can help open the minds of others who are willing to listen to their mission statement.

Fulfilling Destiny is an incredible non-profit working to help bring dignity and respect to the women of San Diego by providing those in need with the proper feminine hygiene products to help them to feel comfortable and safe during their periods. Period Poverty is a such a large issue that effects one in ten girls and women globally, and although it affects such a large number of people it is not discussed nearly enough as people feel that periods are a shameful or taboo subject. I am so proud to work with an organization that is helping to tear down the stigma related to having periods and in the process is helping serve the women in our San Diego community.

I was searching for a local organization that worked to combat menstrual inequality and I found Fulfilling Destiny. I reached out and was immediately impressed by how welcoming they were and how passionate they are about what they do. They invited me to join in a Packing Party and the amount of care that goes into every part of the process really stood out to me! Eya, Jayzle-May, and Karla were incredibly warm and welcoming and I can't wait to continue to volunteer with them!

Fulfilling Destiny is such a great nonprofit organization. Not only are they working towards an important cause that is often times overlooked in society, but they are also very passionate about what they are doing. The team is so kind and driven, and they just want to better the community.

First heard of this organization through a friend. They are helping to promote the regularity of periods rather than women be ashamed of something that is natural. Their organization and what they do to help ease the lives of homeless women is awesome!

Volunteering for Fulfilling Destiny was a rewarding experience. I was able to see first hand the impact we were making on the people who received the dignity bags. It was also nice being able to do this with people with who I share a common interest in helping the community.

Fulfilling Destiny is filled with amazing members that are committed to helping their community. The organization's mission is important in the way that they empower homeless women who are in need. Every member has their own strengths that really makes fulfilling destiny amazing to work with

Fulfilling Destiny is an amazing organization that is working to fill a void within the San Diego community. By providing women and girls experiencing homelessness the feminine hygiene products they require, Fulfilling Destiny is helping to empower and lift up our community. I had the pleasure of working with this organization over the summer and everyone is so welcoming, caring, and passionate. Such an amazing group of people:)

Fulfilling Destiny is such an important and essential organization for the communty of San Diego, who's mission is so humanely defined addressing the basic necessities women living and experiencing poverty are facing. Period poverty is an issue Fulfilling Destiny is taking small strives to combat in the communities through out San Diego which I am so proud to have been a part of through volunteering by holding drives and packing parties to help meet the needs women face with menstrual products in the face of poverty.

This organization has made significant contributions towards the well-being of homeless women in the community. Their mission is carried out by their dedicated and altruistic members.

I am currently on the board as an administrative assistant and it's been such a great experience collaborating with founder, Eya.

I had the opportunity to work with Fullfilling Destiny and I was amazed by how passionate they are about their work. We were able to make 300 bags filled with menstrual products such as pads and tampons that will be going to homeless women. The process was well planned and fun throughout!
