Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: To break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in east orange county as a witness to the love of jesus christ.
Programs: Food/ clothing/personal hygiene - provide registered clients with hot food, essential food supplies, clothing, medical supplies (including non- prescription reading glasses) and other personal hygiene items. (clients served: 7,535 food/ 2,181 clothing/ 4,325 hygiene items).
forms assistance - assist registered clients with referrals for government agencies, va benefits, obtaining ids, locating housing, disability information and other employment-related documentation (1,074 active clients served).
counseling/ spiritual development -through partnership with lakeside, clients are offered counseling by appointment. As needed, transportation to/from lakeside for other treatments may be arranged; 204 clients served.
use of facilities - provide registered/unregistered clients with showers, laundry, mail boxes, haircuts and computer skills classes. (1,037 active clients). Transportation assistance - purchase bus tickets for verified clients for local bus service to / from job sites and downtown orlando for legal or other social services. Purchase bus tickets for out of town bus service to reunite family members; 19 local and 6 long distance bus passes provided to clients.
