Causes: Arts & Culture, Theater
Mission: To create, produce and perform contemporary dramatic works on social issues which address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of youth and family.
Programs: Saltworks produces original plays that educate, challenge and inspire k-12 to make healthy choices when faced with various social issues including drugs and alcohol, bullying, prescription drugs, social skills, etc. We typically perform 100-130 shows per school year to over 18,000 students throughout pennsylvania. We also conduct a young actor studio for children ages 4-18 where a well-rounded education in theater based on literature can be obtained. This takes place in various locations in allegheny county and is done in eight-week semesters and summer camps.
