Causes: Education
Mission: The association exists to support and promote the home education of school-age children by their parents, legal guardians, or whomever their parents or legal guardians may designate, accoring to the admonition of the holy scriptures.
Programs: Teaching co-op: the association operates a home school teaching co-operative. In 2013, the co-op provided facilites for 26 teachers to offer 77 classes to approximately 215 students ranging from age 3 to age 18. The co-op offers low cost supplemental instruction to students of member families who pay a small fee to cover facility costs, insurance, and clean-up. All teachers are self-employed and are paid directly by the students' families.
the association hosted graduation ceremonies for 25 member high school students in may 2013.
the association pulishes a monthly newsletter to keep member families informed on our many activities and on other items of interest to home school families including field trips, classified ads, special student recognition, etc. The newsletter is emailed to approximately 300 home school families each month. The association also holds occasional meetings open to all member families and the general public. Topics of interest to home school familes are presented as well as providing a time for fellowship.
volunteers of the association organized approximately 40 fieldtrips with several hundred participants.
