Mission: The mission of Richard Hugo House is to support writers of all ages and backgrounds with the resources they need, to connect audiences to the world of writing and to promote the literary arts through the work of social justice. Hugo House nurtures writers and readers and brings innovative writing classes to people from every background. Starting in 2006 we began a new initiative to promote new writing across all our programs and to devote one program, the Hugo Literary Series, solely to new commissioned work.
