Mission: Revitz house has been providing essential independent living services to seniors in the washington dc region since 1978, under a federally-insured program (hud section 236). At revitz house, low to moderate income seniors and adults with physical disabilities, who might have few options open to them, benefit from: affordable subsidized rental apartments below market rates; nourishing evening meals; a supportive environment to maintain independence, including rehabilitation services, extensive cultural and social programs, bus transportation, 24-hour security, internet access; assistance in accessing community services; jewish values that honor and respect our elders and kosher meals; life-enhancing programs supported by generous donors; admissions open to all in the community; a service coordinator who assists our elderly and/or disabled residents with supportive services in the community. Programs: Provide affordable subsidized rental apartments, in a clean and safe environment for the elderly or disabled. Provide on-site social work assistance to help the residents acclimate to their new home, as well as assistance in accessing community services such as food stamp programs and rental payment assistance. Provide a supportive environment to maintain independence, including rehabilitation services, cultural and social programs, and transportation to grocery stores, cultural events and shopping centers. 24 hour security is also provided.
