Mission: The purpose of ragom is to provide a high quality of life for golden retrievers who can no longer remain in their current environments; as possible provide golden retriever rescue group functions, including thorough veterinarian examinations and treatments; cooperate with state and local authorities in the enforcement of laws related to the welfare and control of dogs; and encourage, educate and promote responsible dog ownership and good canine citizenship.
Programs: In 2017, ragom took in 272 dogs that needed care and new homes. Each was provided with a foster home where they received care, veterinary attention, and the opportunity to be adopted into a permanent family. Ragom educated the public about dog care and rescue. 154 dogs were spayed/neutered. There were 400 volunteers and 262 adoptions. Ragom continued to participate in international rescue during 2017. Goldens from the country of turkey were rescued, brought back to minnesota and re-homed.
