Bunny Besties

I love bunny besties they are all amazing people. I’m so thankful that we have people in the community that love visiting nursing homes.

Absolutely love volunteering here, each time I’ve come to help I feel so much joy for bringing a smile to nursing home residents’ faces :)

I have volunteered here a few times and it has been a very positive experience everyone is super nice and helping with the bunnies is super fun

I have been a volunteer with Bunny Besties since the start of the organization. I love the work we do; whether it be working with high school or college students, visiting nursing homes, or providing education and supplies for rabbit owners. Bunny Besties provides therapy for those in need and we get to see the wonderful results everytime we volunteer. Jennifer us a great leader and we have excellent volunteers to help us complete out mission. Thank you Bunny Besties for allowing me to be part of this unique and rewarding experience.

I really enjoy volunteering for Bunny Besties because I know I have a place there, and no matter what I do, I know I am making a difference! They are a great group to work with and be around!
They also help rabbit owners in the community to care for their pets and educate new owners on proper care! Has helped me tremendously with both my own rabbits and getting into the community and helping out other people around me!
100% recommend if you are looking for a non profit to volunteer for! Even if you are allergic, there is still a place for you in the group with plenty of things to do! Great for new owners to get help and learn more!

I absolutely enjoy working with Jennifer and other club members planning and hosting events! Everyone helps build such a positive environment and there is so much love spread from bunny to bunny, bunny to person, and person to person within the organization and events that we do.

I recently went on my first visit to a memory care unit with Bunny Besties. I was touched by all the residents. I got to see the joy that our therapy bunnies bring. I was particularly touched by one resident. At first she didn’t want to go near Dandelion (a therapy rabbit) but was coaxed to pet him. At first she barely touched him but after a minute or two, Dandelion’s magic took hold. She started to become alive. She began to smile wildly and her eyes almost danced. She started to hold him and she got even more animated. I could see the loneliness and isolation she felt just disappear. It was a life changing moment for both of us. I got to see the power of these little creatures change a life if even for a hour. I felt so honored to be a part of that. This is the power of the Bunny Besties community.

Bunny Besties came to the senior community I work at and spend time with our memory care unit and our independent folks separately. The Bunnies, volunteers and Jennifer were all so patient, kind and energetic with all the residents. It was the largest turn out for participation in memory care we have had in awhile. We can't wait to have Jennifer and her bunnies back soon!!!

We partnered with Jennifer & Bunny Besties for an event at our restaurant STALK & SPADE in Wayzata, MN! She was a joy to work with and helped coordinate/manage the event right until the last detail. This event was highly successful, we had people in line for almost 30 minutes before the event started! Highly recommend working with Jennifer and her adorable bunnies!

They do so much amazing with the animals! I can see the joy in people's faces when they spend time with the bunnies! I love to volunteer with Bunny Besties and I feel like I am making a difference!

Jennifer and her crew were phenomenal. They are knowledgeable, personable, and patient with the residents and staff who provided a consistent stream of questions. The hands on interactive experience was incredible. Definitely, one of a kind. Residents were able to hold and snuggle with the bunnies as they exchanged stories about their childhood bunny experiences with the Bunny Bestie staff.

I highly recommend Bunny Besties. They are a superb crew who puts on a excellent program.

Bunny besties is a great organization that strives to serve for the betterment of the community, from the young to the old. Everyone has a place at Bunny Besties and the attention to detail and care the rabbits receive is clear in their interaction with others. Bunny Besties also is fantastic at making everyone feel included and welcomed, and has an atmosphere of fun and happiness.

I found Bunny Besties while trying to find a good quality source of local hay for my bunny. My bunny often struggles with GI Stasis and I was struggling to find hay that my bunny likes to help prevent this. Jennifer reached out to me and told me about the local hay Bunny Besties has. We tried it with our bunny and she has been obsessed with it ever since. We have not had any other issues with GI Stasis. Bunny Besties is doing amazing work for our bunny community and I am so happy to have found them!

I started volunteering for Bunny Besties almost four years ago, and I have enjoyed every moment of it! Working with both rabbits and people to create a mutually therapeutic experience is a truly beautiful thing. I have learned so much about rabbits through my time with Bunny Besties, and I hope to continue to use this knowledge as I pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

I started volunteering with this organization in early 2019, and have kept coming back since. From a volunteer's perspective, the basics are easy to pick up and the love for rabbits is contagious. As someone who frequently cuddles with the rabbits during downtime or when helping take care of them, the rabbits are well taken care of and very well trained. It's always a joy to help out and see how excited people get to see the rabbits run around and hold them, and fulfilling for me since I know I'm helping out it my community. So glad I stumbled into the Hoppy Hour room during UMN PAWS that first time!

Volunteering with this organization has been such a journey of personal growth! The director of Bunny Besties truly cares about every person involved in the org and all the people it serves. I have learned so much about the human-animal bond and about how to correctly care for rabbits, and this experience has helped me on my path to become a veterinarian. Bunny Besties has a place for everyone!

I first volunteered with Bunny Besties a few years ago when we brought bunnies downtown to a homeless shelter and read to the preschool children. They loved it.

Later, I visited nursing homes with the bunnies and saw the look of joy on the faces of the residents there.

I have also seen the impact Bunny Besties has on college students and how much it helps them cope with the stresses in their lives.

Bunny Besties changed my life. I was a recipient of Bunny Besties’ programming while a college student struggling with transferring to a big school in a big city with no friends. Bunny Besties immediately welcomed me and gave me a place to destress, a place where I belonged and could make friends. It moved me so much that I became a volunteer and then a board member so I could give back to the community and help others the way I was helped.

I have been so impressed with the thought and care that goes into the care of the animals. The bunnies give so much back to the individuals and groups lucky enough to interact with them. Every effort is put into the well-being of the animals AND the clients.

As a volunteer with this organization for many years, I can confidently share that Bunny Besties’ founder and director is one of the most passionate people I have ever met. Always dedicated to her cause, Jennifer is constantly thinking of new and creative ways to engage the community in promoting mental health and experiencing the benefits of animal assisted interactions. Volunteers are encouraged to use their unique skills and strengths, and there are many opportunities to explore and learn new skills, as well. I have nothing but positive things to say about this wonderful organization; it has certainly changed my life (and many others) for the better!

The care and respect that Bunny Besties shows it’s bunnies, volunteers, and community is admirable! The inclusive culture, created by the executive director, lets volunteers show their authentic selves. This creates a group that is passionate and successful at what they do!
