Causes: Community Improvement & Capacity Building
Mission: Residents against the breakaway is a civic organization dedicated to educating and informing local residents on the impacts of a proposed incorporation effort.
Programs: Through the organization of community meetings, press releases, and website/social media activities the organization makes interested persons and the general public aware of the potential impacts of the st. George incorporation effort. Community meetings are organized and led by volunteers. Donations are collected at larger community meetings to offset the costs of providing information, hosting meetings, conducting mail-outs and providing yard signs to encourage citizens to support the city.
through table meetings at various locations throughout town, volunteers interact with residents to discuss the implications of the incorporation effort and encourage people to sign the petition against incorporation. Additionally, the volunteers request that people who have already signed the proposition petition withdraw their name from the petition. The volunteers have yard signs available for those who express support.
