I had contacted Rebuilding together for some help because my husband and I are both disabled and in wheel chairs. We are on a limited income with no savings and that makes it so very hard for us. I was so grateful to be chosen to receive help because I have a leaky roof and my awning on my front porch was coming apart and was very dangerous for all. I also needed some plumbing repairs done and I also needed work done in my bathroom. Well a man and a woman came in and spoke with me and asked about what needed done and to give them to them in order of importance. So the first I said was about the leak in the roof, I than told them about the awning and railings falling apart I than proceeded with the leaks and the bathroom. So before they left I was told that I would be contacted again in the future. Well A gentleman came in and he had some others with him and they got busy working I had to go out but my husband stayed here with the workers. I came home at 2:30 pm and everyone was gone. I than noticed that both on the main 2 reasons I contacted them were not done. Than when I went into the bathroom I was very pleased with the work that they did but for one thing. They had to take down my safety rails to put up a new surround in the tub. The only thing that they didn't do was put my rails back up. I have called the local office 2 times and sent emails but I get no response. Than when I looked out front I seen that they did not put of rails or an awning. The big problem with that is my daughter has to use the front steps and she is also handicapped and needs something to hold unto to go up the steps. She has fallen 6 times since this had to be taken down. I called and sent emails about this and I did get a response but nothing came from that either. I understand that finances are really tight but if they would have told me that they can only do 2 things I would have told them that the front railings with an awning was so very important. As I said I feel so grateful for their help it is just that the main things that needed addressed were not touched.

My husbad and I are both physically disabled and we are living on a limited budget and unable to afford to get our house modified. I called around looking for help and by the grace of God I contacted Rebuilding Together and they were so caring and wonderful. They came in and they were so helpful. They came to my house and went through and wrote things down that needed to be repaired. They contacted me with in a few weeks to tell me what they were going to do. I received a call informing me when they would be here to do the work and as I was told they arrived with a work crew and started to get to work immediately. They replaced the sliding door that was broke, they built a wall there and put a door there they also replaced our toilet with a toilet that was made for disabled people they also replaced our vanity in the bathroom with a vanity that was made for disabled people. I am so grateful for the work that they completed. After they left I received a call from a woman that was selling a stair lift and one of the ladies that was working on my house remembered that we were in need of a stair lift so she gave that woman my name and she called me and I was able to get it which is a blessing again. Now all I need to do is get someone to install it for me. But I do want to send a great big Thank You to Rebuilding Together and their volunteers Arlene
