CCAI has been so welcoming and supportive to me as an adult learner of Chinese language and Tai Chi. I so appreciate the encouragement and support, as well as the excellent personalized instruction. I can't thank them enough!

Teachers are very knowledgeable and have patience towards every students. For example, the Chinese drawing explained the themes and steps for the final outcome. Of course, the younger student or beginners could get it the first time, second time, even the third time, but the art instructor still patiently explained how to do it. She even hold the student's hand to try the strokes. Thank the teacher so patiently teaching.

CCAI was like a second family for me in the past year. I was new to the Hershey area with a young family and knew I'd only be there for a year, but I was warmly welcomed into the adult class. I looked forward to all the classes and rehearsals because they were fun, challenging, and engaging. We've since moved from the area and I wish I were still able to attend CCAI!

My daughter started Chinese dance with CCAI just before her 4th birthday and continued until she went to college. The teachers truly care for the students. CCAI helped her develop poise and self confidence in addition to providing exposure to her Chinese culture. It was definitely a good investment for her.

My daughter has been attending the Chinese Cultural and Arts Institute for 13 years. It not only has been a wonderful way for her to learn about her heritage but it has also provided her with confidence and poise. She has been involved with Chinese Dance, Chinese Language, and Ballet through CCAI. Because of my daughter's involvement, I have learned Chinese Brush Painting through a CCAI class and I have learned about my daughter's heritage. The Faculty at CCAI are truly interested in the well being of their students both in class and outside of class. CCAI has been a great experience for us all. I highly recommed CCAI.

My daughter has been a language and dance student at CCAI for over 3 1/2 years. As an American born Chinese, it was important for me that my daughter experiences the Chinese culture and arts. CCAI has and is providing her those experiences. Bill, Chen-Yu, their teachers and the experienced parents have been so welcoming and helpful to us. I highly recommend CCAI for anyone who is interested in the chinese culture and arts.

As a member of the community it is nice to have this cultural nonprofit in the Greater Capitol Region. You would normally only find something like CCAI in a major city like New York or San Francisco. This explains the looks that CCAI gets when it is stated they are located in Harrisburg. Please support this nonprofit and the work it does with adopted and immigrant children, youth, and adults.

A Gem in the Mid-Atlantic Region that you would not expect to find here, or elsewhere for that matter. This organization is always mistaken for being from NYC or San Francisco, or other metropolitan area. The quality of the arts presented and instructed here is unmatched anywhere. They also follow the traditional Chinese arts training and do not use any Youtube videos as training. There is no better.

Chinese Cultural & Arts Institute is an amazing organization that helps share cultural diversity with the community. I am extremely grateful that I have the opportunity to perform with CCAI and share a piece of my Chinese culture with others. Ms. Chen-Yu is an outstanding teacher and choreographer who enriches her students and teaches them to embrace their culture. Cultural diversity is an important part of our society, and CCAI helps students reach out to the community and share their culture with others.

For the past seven years, Chinese Cultural & Arts Institute has offered many awesome opportunities for our daughter to participate in Chinese cultural dances. As adoptive parents, this is important to us since it connects our adopted daughter to her Chinese heritage. In addition, our daughter takes Chinese painting classes through CCAI. Chen-yu Tsuei is a gifted dancer and choreographer whose vision has brought Chinese culture to South Central Pennsylvania. We are grateful for the cultural experience CCAI has provided to our daughter.

This program that saying or running is amazing. My son has been asking me to learn Mandarin since he was in elementary school around third grade. I've looked for that many years to find him a school to go to. Now he is 13 and in 8th grade and I found the Chinese Cultural Arts Institute. His experience there has been amazing, the teachers are great! They are very understanding and helpful. I am a single mom and there were times that I may have missed a payment and they said that was fine they work with me and they still out of my son to come to the classes. They said the most important thing is that the kids learn their not about kicking kids out just because they can't afford it. Tell me what other place will say that to you? Especially a non-profit?

CCAI is a wonderful organization to represent the culture of China. They recently attended our event to share with children Chinese culture and spread good will. They were professional, but also fun! I know that many children had a wonderful time interacting with them. We hope to partner with them again!

As a dancer of CCAI for the past 12 years, I can’t imagine my life without this special oppurntunity to learn Chinese dance and the culture. It’s more than just a sport, but rather, learning an art that’s been here for thousands of years. And to perform it in front of audiences allows us to open other people’s eyes to the art of Chinese dance.

During the few years I’ve spent at CCAI, it has provided me with many opportunities and it’s been a big influence in my life. As a student learning in this organization, not only has it taught me many life lessons, it had also encouraged me to reach new heights under the support of many great teachers. To be honest, I don't know where I would've been if I hadn't found this organization, nor would I have met many great people and befriended many. Overall CCAI is a outstanding and comfortable place to learn at, and ensure a better for you.

As being a student at CCAI for around 8 years I’ll say CCAI is a great environment for all ages. CCAI has experienced teachers who bring the best out of you. CCAI also has great opportunities to perform for community events and many others. I have befriended many other students from CCAI who I will always cherish. I am very thankful for CCAI and all it’s teachers, students, and parents for helping me grow throughout the years.

As a graduate of CCAI, I have to say that there are no other Chinese culture-based organizations in Central Pennsylvania that compares to CCAI. CCAI provides the top traditional Chinese dance training, Chinese calligraphy classes, and Chinese language lessons. There are also more dance classes offered beyond traditional Chinese dance-- the teacher is a Juilliard School graduate and she also teaches ballet classes. CCAI is a community-based organization, volunteering and serving at community events throughout Pennsylvania. Students have opportunities to perform dances several times a month at events.

As a student at CCAI, I cannot imagine my life without it. I have not only learned about Chinese culture, traditional Chinese Dance, and painting, but I have also learned about how to communicate, be a teammate, and work hard. Without CCAI, I would not have been able to say that I have competed at a dance competition in Los Angeles or performed for the governor. I would not be who I am today if I had stopped attending CCAI, and I know that in the future, I will cherish the memories that I have had here. The experiences, friends I have made, and knowledge I have gained will stay with me forever.

Ten years ago, I took Chinese language classes at CCAI and attended their Chinese language summer camps learning not only language but also Chinese cooking, dance, and art. Though it was a small organization at the time, my summers and evenings spent studying at CCAI remain some of my favorite childhood memories and I directly credit my teachers and friends at CCAI with inspiring me to continue my Chinese language studies. Today, I'm an undergraduate student studying in Shanghai, speak fluent Mandarin, and have worked for several bilingual and Chinese journalism companies. Thank you, CCAI, for inspiring me to learn more.

We're starting our second year at CCAI. I returned to this school because it's a family environment. Everyone is welcoming and works together to get things done. It's not a traditional Chinese School (my kids go for language classes). There aren't bells to indicate the start of class time, break time, end of class. There aren't hundreds of students and parents. It's a more intimate setting. When one method wasn't working, the teacher changed to engage my kids (boys ages 12, 11 and 9) better.

There is a mandatory performance in the spring. As the parent, I was quite nervous and worried if my children could pull it off. But it ended up being a wonderful production and my children even enjoyed it.

I wish there were more hours in the day so my boys could experience all that this school offers.

I am new to CCAI and to the Harrisburg area. The families and staff of CCAI have opened their arms to my family. They have worked with me to find the right teacher for my children. Coming here is like visiting family. The prices are reasonable for what they offer. It's a different feeling here than the traditional Chinese School that are held on Saturday/Sunday. The classes here are taught mostly during the school week. There's a variety of attendees ranging from young children to adults, full Chinese, half-Chinese, non-Chinese and adopted Chinese. I couldn't give it 5 stars because the facility is a little hard to find (at first). I hope they can find a better home for this wonderful school in the near future.

Such a treasure in our area. CCAI has nurtured my daughter from a little girl to a young woman. She has grown up with the owners and the children and considers them all an extension of her family. Almost grown, she is now setting her sights on college with lots of support from CCAI. She continues to enjoy traditional Chinese dance, and Chinese painting at CCAI. Her experiences dancing and performing with CCAI will last a lifetime for her. Forever grateful the CCAI for helping our daughter come into her own.

My daughter has been attending CCAI for many years now. She has enjoyed traditional Chinese dance, Chinese language and Chinese painting. Now that she is in her final years of high school she is being tutored for her SAT's at CCAI! Her tutor is very patient and explains things in a way that she can understand. She has built lifelong friendships with the other students and owners. CCAI will always be in her heart.

My daughters are adopted from China, so I want to provide an opportunity for them to learn about their birth culture. My older daughter is very serious about her dancing. Miss Chen-Yu is not just a Chinese American that teaches dance; she is very accredited with a degree from Julliard and she teaches the children to perform to their ability. I love that my daughter can maximize her dance potential, learn about her birth culture, and spend time with other Chinese American adopted children all in one class! My younger daughter takes Chinese painting classes with Miss Diana. Miss Diana is an excellent painter and a kind, patient, and encouraging teacher. We have been thrilled with how well she works with our daughter's unique personality. She encourages our daughter to stretch outside of her comfort zone and accomplish things she never thought possible.

The Chinese Cultural and Arts Institute (CCAI) serves an important role in helping individuals throughout Central Pennsylvania to learn about Chinese culture through dance, art, and language lessons. There is simply no other similar organization here that does this work. My children have had wonderful experiences through their participation in programs through CCAI.

The Chinese Cultural and Arts Center of Harrisburg is a wonderful resource for central Pennsylvania. Its students have allowed residents of the area to get a true experience of the arts of China through their performances in music, dance, painting, and drama. Harrisburg is lucky to have CCAI.
