Programs: Established in 1967, reality house, inc. Is a community based not-for-profit oasas (office of alcoholism and substance abuse services)certified medically supervised outpatient chemical dependency treatment facility that provided culturally-appropriate substance abuse and hiv treatment and prevention services to new yorkers living primarily in harlem, washington heights, and the south bronx. In 2006, we suspended our services and temporarily relocated our offices to 3280 broadway to undergo an agency redesign and redevelopment campaign. Reality house, inc. Has since transformed our agency to include effective treatment services for veterans, their families, and communities along the lines of cultural competence and social justice. As of september 2008, our offices were relocated to long island city, queens. As of january 24th 2013, reality house, inc. Has established residency at our new home located at 8-13 astoria boulevard, astoria, new york 11102. Our new facilities consists of a 30 bed veterans residence and a medically supervised outpatient chemical dependency treatment program for the general population as well as veterans. Reality house offers group and individual substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitative services including career planning, job placement, ged preparation courses, parenting skills training as well as catering to our veterans with serious conditions such as traumatic brain injury (tbi) and post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd). There were 6,011 client visits in fiscal year ended june 30, 2017.
