Having grown up at summer camp I understand the importance of camp and the difference it can make in a child’s life. SCOPE is truly an amazing organization which gives children who necessarily wouldn’t be able to enjoy the gift of camp the chance to experience all camp has to offer. It’s an honor to be a volunteer for this wonderful organization.
I have grown up going to sleep-away camp for as long as I can remember. It is so important to me to be an active participant in SCOPE because I want everyone to experience camp like I have. As president of my schools club I have been able to actively fundraise and meet tons of new people with a shared love of camp.
Supporting SCOPE has been very rewarding as I am able to help others experience the same camp magic that I have. Supporting SCOPE has allowed me to express my passion that I have for helping others and the love that I have for sleep away camp. I truly believe in the power of sleepaway camp, and the positive effects that it has on the life of each child able to attend. With the help of SCOPE, a child is given the opportunity to attend a sleepaway camp where they build skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. I am so honored to work with an organization that does such important work every day. There is no greater gift than sleepaway camp, and by supporting SCOPE I am able to share this gift with other like-minded teens who share the same passion as me.
I first learned about SCOPE when I was at camp a few years ago. I had an interest in learning more about it and getting involved. Since this year is going to be my last summer at Iroquois springs I wanted to feel closer to camp during the school year, so I started a SCOPE club at my school and became a JLC intern! It is the most rewarding feeling to help give other children the gift of camp, like I have. By giving children the gift of camp you provide special experiences and memories that will last forever.
In my time with SCOPE, I have seen amazing things. This organization has been incredible and done so amazing things. SO many lives have been touched by SCOPE.
SCOPE is a wonderful organization with an amazing mission and driven, dedicated individuals. They came to the camp I used to work at for quite a few summers, and each time they spoke to us, I was reminded how important the work they do is! I really loved their virtual fitness fundraiser week and look forward to more events coming up!
SCOPE is an amazing organization and I have loved being part of the SCOPE club. My time at camp has changed me and made me a better person, and it makes me happy to know that I’m having to provide other kids with that experience.
SCOPE is such an amazing organization. Throughout the years I have worked on fundraisers and donated to SCOPE and it was been the most rewarding, best experience. Camp was such an important part of my life and it feels so great being able to give that opportunity to other kids.
Scope is such an amazing program! What they do to give so many children the amazing experience of camp is beneficial to their overall wellbeing. I truly am in awe of what they do and what they stand for!
As a professional in the camping industry, I have been consistently impressed with SCOPE. They recognize the benefits that children gain from a summer camp experience and their efforts to share that with children from all backgrounds are truly remarkable.
SCOPE is such a cool organization that sends kids to camp! I loved my time at both sleepaway camp and day camp and I’m so glad to be a part of the SCOPE club at my school and help give other kids the opportunity to have the same experience I did!
As a camp professional I am so impressed with what SCOPE does and the scale on which they do it. It is run by true professionals who put together fabulous fund raisers and it is one of the few charities where virtually all of the money goes to the cause.
SCOPE is an incredible organization that allows me to spread my love for camp! I am so excited to run the SCOPE club at my school this year and get the chance to participate in all of SCOPE’s amazing events!
My parents have always been active in the camp community, and supporting SCOPE is something they have always done. It wasn’t till recently though, when my sister started to take interest into it, that I realized what a great group it is. SCOPE is a nonprofit that is changing kids lives everyday, and personally I know, I would not be the person I am today had it not been for my time at camp. SCOPE is a fantastic organization that I only wish more people knew about.
SCOPE is a fantastic nonprofit organization. They provide kids with the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend sleepaway camp, a life changing experience. They support kids who may have missed out on opportunities such as these, and they are welcoming to all support they have in order to achieve their goals. They treat their donors kindly and with respect, and have annual outings for them. Their dedication to camp is admirable, and working with them has allowed me to follow my passion of one day working within the camp community, as it truly does make a difference in kids' lives.
I've had the pleasure of volunteering with SCOPE over the last 6 years. Their year-round team is so warm and dedicated to ensuring children can experience the gift of camp. Whether it's assisting at their annual dinner or attending a Young Associates fundraiser, I've only had positive experiences.
I was introduced to SCOPE during the summer of 2019 when I was at camp and my age group was assigned to raise money for SCOPE. Before that time, I knew SCOPE existed but I didn’t know much about what they did. After spending a few days putting together videos, facilitating a marathon, creating t-shirts, and understanding the importance of SCOPE’s mission, I decided to continue my volunteer work with SCOPE during the school year. I did this because I know how fortunate I am to have a second home-camp- and I wanted to contribute to sending underprivileged kids to camp so they can make memories, develop skills and friendships, and gain a support system they will have for years to come. My experience with SCOPE has been amazing; the team is so dedicated and everyone values the great impact camp has on kids. The team works extremely hard to get fundraisers together, build communities through JLC in order for volunteers to connect with one another, allows us to stay connected on social media, and so much more. I have loved volunteering at SCOPE and I hope to continue my work with them in the future.
I have had the most amazing experience with SCOPE. Camp means so much to me and I wanted to be able to make a difference in other children’s lives. I got in contact with SCOPE and was so easily able to set up a club at my school to help make a difference. They were always available with any questions and make the process so easy. I could not recommend this non profit enough.
SCOPE is such an important nonprofit because it provides children who are underprivileged with valuable summer experiences and helps them learn and grow. As a junior leader at this nonprofit and a camper, I have learned how much a camp experience positively affects a child’s life. SCOPE also helps these children stay in school. SCOPE is such a great nonprofit. -Callie Mayer
SCOPE, as an organization recognizes the immense benefits that children gain in their summer camp experiences- independence, resiliency, teamwork, friendship and so much more. The team (Board and full-time staff) helps to create opportunities for children from financially disadvantaged families, by making summer camp accessible to them.
SCOPE has provided me with incredible opportunities to help give the gift of camp to many deserving children. I've been fortunate enough to be a part of the SCOPE associate board and to help run Camp Taconic's Strides4SCOPE walkathon with Taconic's 16 year old Leader-in-Training program.
Having seen SCOPE in action for close to a decade, I have always been in awe of their passion, direction, and hustle. For such a small team to have such a big and far-reaching impact is truly remarkable, and to witness and participate in events with such dedicated and creative people has been a major source of inspiration and joy for me in recent years. The children impacted by SCOPE gain lifelong benefits from their involvement with the organization, which makes the value of what SCOPE provides truly meaningful — both for the communities it serves and for its donors.
I got involved with SCOPE because of its wonderful mission. What they are doing benefits many children and allows them to gain many new opportunities. I volunteer for SCOPE because I want to help kids to have the option to explore new things that can alter their lives in different ways.
I found out about SCOPE through my sleep away camp. Each year we do specific activities to raise funds for this worthy organization. 2019 was my final summer as a camper, and I am so grateful to have gone to camp. Not only have I made lifelong friends, but camp has also greatly impacted my life. I wanted to get involved with SCOPE because unfortunately not everyone has the opportunity to go to summer camp. I feel so lucky to be a part of SCOPE and raise money so children can share the same experiences that I had.
From the moment a member of the SCOPE team came to my camp, I was hooked. I love helping others even more than I love camp (and I love camp a lot)! The lessons I’ve learned throughout my summers at camp will stay with me forever and I believe everyone should be able to learn in a camp environment. The gift of summer camp is one of the best that can be given and it is amazing to be able to give the gift of camp to less fortunate children!

The camp that I work for has hosted two Walk-a-Thons for SCOPE. We believe that camp has an enormous impact on children, and want to make it possible for as many kids to attend, and SCOPE has the ability to do this. We wholeheartedly support them and their mission.
We raise money for disadvantaged children to have the summer camp experience which teaches invaluable life skills. These campers are inspired to continue to do well in school so that they can have the experience summer after summer. The goal is to continue to touch as many lives as possible!
