Pusong Pinoy (PP) has definitely been a life changer, and it has given me the opportunity to use my talents and abilities to give back. I have worked with PP for about a year now, and as a Junior Team Leader, I have had the pleasure to organize a book drive, and collect books and monetary donations from my community. This cause is truly amazing, helping thousands of children in the Philippines to become educated to change their futures. Pusong Pinoy has made a positive impact on my community, and has taught me how to be a leader and how to give back effectively.
It was truly humbling how the founder, Donna Rosario, started this mission with her children in her own home. Her sons thought about donating their slightly-used books to the unfortunate kids in the Philippines and the rest is history.
From then on, I introduced my children to her and showed them that even though they're not adults yet, they can still make a difference by trying to promote literacy to those children in need, just by collecting books that they don't use anymore. My oldest, Christian became very inspired himself and promoted book collection in his high school and was successful enough to have collected a total of 4,000 books from his school alone and another 1,500 from friends, family and the community. He additionally sponsored a scholar in La Sale Lipa's Damascus Foundation through his social movement, KUYA. It's a rewarding gesture most especially for the children and youth because they can feel good about themselves that even if they're still young, they can play an important part in the society.
Because of this experience, my children learned the importance of giving and helping to their capacity. They will carry this throughout their lives.
A BIG thank you to Pusong Pinoy for giving us the opportunity to give back to our kababayans in need. Truly an enjoyable and rewarding feeling to be able to help. Cheers to you Donna ALL the heroes. Continue with your mission with the highest standard of excellence, integrity and dedication. You can always count on us.
Pusong Pinoy is the best! This organization is very transparent. I know where exactly my donations go. We need more organizations like this. They gave me an opportunity to give back and share my blessings. Thank you Pusong Pinoy.
I admire the transparency and honesty of this organization. They really live up to the "nonprofit" term. You're assured that your donations go straight to deserving people who need help.
Volunteers are not paid with money but enjoy and take pride in what they do to help their cause. Unlike other organizations, Pusong pinoy.org gives importance to both donors and recipients. Donors become more engaged because of this. Highly recommended. If you want to make a difference, however small the help may be, consider giving to this non profit. They welcome donations of kids story books.
This organization is very transparent. You see where your donation goes - helping poor kids in the Philippines. Highly recommended.
Pusong Pinoy truly cares about children's education
The organization helps needy children in the Philippines, through donations of books and items for basic needs. The books bring knowledge, imagination and inspiration to young minds. With Pusong Pinoy the kids stand a better chance of getting out of poverty and making a contribution to society. This non-profit was started and continues to run at grass-roots level by dedicated individuals who are committed to making a difference.
Pusong Pinoy has been so good to us. When we are in America, they are there to encourage us, to make us feel welcome, and to seek us out asking what they can contribute to help us bring literacy to the orphans in our care. When we are in the Philippines they've repeatedly blessed our Kids with books, school supplies and a desire to read. Pusong Pinoy is a shining example of a grassroots organization changing lives by meeting people where they, donor or client. We have in turn introduced several schools and NGOs to the programs offered by Pusong Pinoy
This is a very open, honest and friendly organization who's goals, mission are very concrete and heart warming. I am very pleased to know that my donation and time spent goes a long way with Pusong Pinoy. The disclosure of my donations (or whoever donates) are very specific; down to how many people will be affected by the donation, to the place and time it will be disposed whether books, food or of monetary value.
Thank you Donna and the rest of Pusong Pinoy for upholding value and integrity to this organization. May I wish you more success to this organization.
Pusong Pinoy is a very good non profit organization because they help poor Filipino kids. They also help highlight the situation of these kids to promote awareness among the Filipinos in general. Keep up the good work and god bless.
Pusong Pinoy is an honest and reputable organization. That truly helps the indigent children of our country...a group like Pusong Pinoy that puts emphasis on education and opening doors to lots of unfortunate kids in the Philippines, they are literally creating a NEW and BETTER Philippines. The people behind this organization are very inspiring, their motive is very PURE. When I read about them a couple of years ago, I was convinced right away. They say it is better to give than to receive. I say, When you give and can cause change positively to one of these kids' life, that's even better... Thanks to Jay Martinez for being part of this.. :)
“They don’t have to be on the streets to be street smart”… with Pusong Pinoy’s, “Promote Literacy to Eradicate Poverty”, “One Book, One Meal, One Piece of Clothing at a Time”, “Food for Thought” and other effective programs, simply put it… have helped a lot of underprivileged kids and their love ones happy towards a better way of life!
I was first introduced to this group by a friend and I am very much amaze on what this group had done for the unfortunate children of the Philippines, primarily to their basic needs and education.
It's an honor to be able to write a review for one of my favorite nonprofits, Pusong Pinoy! I've seen them grow from a small group to a global organization that helps countless children. My friends and I have been able to donate tons of books to them to help in the development of literacy for under privileged kids in the Philippines. Back in 2011, my business partner, Judith Milano, donated to the Children of the Little Lights Ministry through the help of Pusong Pinoy and she celebrated her "birthday" party with the kids! It was a life changing experience as we saw the tremendous gratitude and joy of the children when we spent an afternoon with them along with the Miss Beauty of the Philippines - Tourism, Chasta Nechvatal. The current Miss Beauty of the Philippines title holder, Erina Lightholder, recently donated boxes of slightly used books to Pusong Pinoy also, and we look forward to supporting this wonderful group of HEROES as they continue their battle to end illiteracy in the Philippines.
I would like to take this time to thank and commend the heroes and the superheroes of Pusong Pinoy who have greatly helped the underprivileged Filipino children. Your "Promote Literacy to Eradicate Poverty" program, a call to answer the needs of an ailing country, is truly a sincere work. A dedication that truly deserves a commendation. In behalf of Team Little Lights, I would like to reiterate our grateful appreciation in your steadfast love and support to our cause in giving comfort to children by way of educational materials, food supplies, clothing and other effective programs in uplifting the lives of underprivileged Filipino children. May you all be blessed in all the works of your hands. God bless you.
I have always had a soft spot for the needy most specially the children. I first heard of Pusong Pinoy through a friend last year while I was planning my birthday- I wanted to make it a meaningful one. I was able to speak to one of the PP SUPERHERO who happens to be a friend too. He asked me to check their website and Facebook page to know more about Pusong Pinoy. I was moved by how it started - a mother wanting to teach her son how to be compassionate and generous thru a book drive.
So I went through with my plan and organized a no-gift party, I requested my guest to make donations in cash instead. The donations collected were then given to my PP SUPERHERO friend. From the time I have handed the donation up to the planning and implementation of how the funds will be used, I was updated by everyone. I was very impressed by their honesty and transparency.
What I am trying to say is that, Pusong Pinoy works with pure love and burning passion in helping the needy most specially the children.
I do believe that no matter where you're from, what your skin color is or what language you speak we all have a Pusong Pinoy in all of us, a heart that is always ready to give a helping hand to those in need.
To all PP Superheroes, thank you for giving your time and love. May the passion you all have continue to burn and give light to those in need. More power and KUDOS!
When I heard Pusong Pinoy, I never hesitate to give my support knowing their dedication in helping the less fortunate children in the Philippines in so many ways, especially the EDUCATION. I am glad for being part of this by giving hope and inspiration to those unable to achieve their dreams by their own. To the persons behind Pusong Pinoy, you've been honored for having a compassionate heart in your own way of serving.
CONGRATULATIONS to Pusong Pinoy (Heart of a Filipino) for unceasingly helping all those needy and the underprivileged kids in Philippines. PP heartily support and provide every kid's need from Education to Shelter, Food to Medicine, etc etc... May this Charity Work of the people behind Pusong Pinoy will continue__ for the benefits of the less fortunate little ones. GrandSalute!
