Causes: Education
Mission: Our promise is to educate, coach, and advocate for girls and women with an aptitude, talent, and passion for stem. Through engagement of top stem companies, universities, teachers and hands on curriculum our girls discover the endless opportunities available to them in stem.
Programs: Caltech academy - in pasadena, ca we hosted 183 girls ages 4 - 12 over a 6 week period at caltech during summer 2016 for our summer stem academy. At summer stem academy, we hosted over 18 stem professionals, so that our girls could hear from women that look like them working in the stem space. In addition to offering hands on science curriculum, our girls find the relevance of learning stem subjects when they visit stem companies for a weekly expedition. In 2016 we visited 11 stem companies. The girls continued their learning throughout the school year to 11 full-day stem expeditions to stem companies and universities.
uncc academy - in charlotte, nc, we hosted 234 girls ages 4 -12 over a 6 week period at uncc for our summer 2016 stem academy. At the summer stem academy we hosted over 18 stem professionals, so that the girls could hear from women that look like them working in the stem space. In addition to offering hands on science curriculum, our girls find the relevance of learning stem subjects when they visit stem companies for a weekly expedition. In summer 2016, we visited 11 stem companies. The girls continued their learning throughout the school-year through 11 full day stem expeditions and universities.
usc academy - in los angeles, ca we hosted 40 girls ages 4 - 12 over a 1 week period at usc during summer 2016 for our summer stem academy. At summer stem academy, we hosted over 3 stem professionals, so that our girls could hear form women that look like them working in the stem space. In addition to offering hands on science curriculum, our girls find the relevance of learning stem subjects when they visit stem companies for a weekly expedition. In 2016 we visited 1 stem company. The girls continued their learning throughout the school year through 1 full-day stem expedition to stem companies and universities.
