Would not recommend. We were told a student needed an emergency placement and no there were no other families available, this would be an unpaid placement. We spoke to the student and her local coordinator and thought we would be a great match. Because it was midway into the school year, it took a lot of legwork from myself and the local volunteer by getting my family approved to calling and writing letters to schools to have her accepted. After many hurdles, we finally got her accepted into local school school. But, then the next day, we were told she is being sent to another family because her region was prioritized. Just to be respectful, they should have told us what they were exploring and check in with us before a decision was made since we were the first to answer the call and made it clear the work we'd be putting in to help her. ASSE really needs to work out these kinks so not to hurt the students and waste people's time and effort.

I was first introduced to Impact Giving by a friend who invited me to attend the organization’s annual grant recipient event. That evening was transformative. I was struck by the breadth of organizations supported and the care behind each funding decision, and I joined that very night. I was seeking a warm, welcoming community of women who approached charitable giving thoughtfully and with intention. I wanted to learn about a wide range of causes and contribute not only financially, but also through my time and talent. Impact Giving has exceeded those hopes. The women are genuine, inclusive, and deeply committed to the mission. Serving on a grant committee gave me firsthand insight into a rigorous, values-driven process shaped by the entire partnership. The trust rooted in Impact Giving’s core values is evident in everything it does. Impact Giving has provided me with community, purpose, and a deeper understanding of effective philanthropy. My Hero Art Project Inc., has always serve us platform for showcasing our students' artistic skills and our goal to celebrate the heroes in their lives.<br>It is a pleasure to work with Laura, who is always prompt about notifying us for the My Hero Projects.

Coast Film Foundation is excellent! Amazing people to work with! From the staff to the volunteers and the guests attending! Everyone is so nice, passionate about the cause and just a joy to be around. Their motto - "Come curious, leave inspired" rings 100% true. 5 stars!!!

As the wife of one of the founders I have witnessed first hand what it takes , not only to start a non profit, but to sustain it . I have watch it grow from a handful of volunteers to the highly thought of organization it is today. It was started with about a dozen people and a plastic pool in one members back yard in 1971. we called it, Friends of the Sea lion Now know as Pacific Marine Mammal Center a top rated organization fully staffed. and an abundance of truly dedicated volunteers who's mission is to rescue, and rehabilitate marine mammals along the so California coast returning them to the ocean for a second chance of life. Research and Education are also a big part of PMMC. and we are in the midst of a amazing remodel of our facility and look forward to reopening to the Public in a few months. And if you get a change to see a release ( this is my favorite part). , when these animals are returned to the ocean. they look out and see the water , run down the wet sand and return home to the sea you know all the hard work to make this happen was worth the effort. that is the Reward.. My sober sisters and I had tons of fun in R2R in treatment! Max, through his consistent effort and talent got every single one of us to play an instrument or sing. Most of had never played piano, drums, guitar, tambourine, etc. We were on our way to making a hit album! Recovery is not easy nor would I call rehab fun, however this class allowed us to be silly, enjoy the moment, and heal in a super creative way. We also touched on the effects of our disease in our song writing and how we overcome it. You also get a rad guitar chip for milestones. This group of talented and thoughtful musicians are truly a gift in the world of recovery. Absolutely anyone will benefit from R2R! <br>

Volunteering for Unconditional is the most rewarding experience! The people at Unconditional make every effort to help volunteers feel happy, prepared, appreciated and listened to! Volunteering to help these special dogs is all the reward you need but it sure helps that the organization makes your experience the best it can be.

Giving is an act of kindness. It's easy to watch and do nothing but more productive to help. My family and I had a chance to help at the last event in March. I highly recommend if you have time to join Who's Hungry when they go out in the community.

Have experienced personal loss of loved one / family member to police brutality/ violence. The Voices Of Strength / Nonprofit brings families together. Gives support to impacted families/educates on the truth behind police terrorism , misuse of deadly force . Exposes the sub-culture of thin blue line terrorists , police / sheriff gangs murdering / terrorizing of innocent civilians.

Amazing organization that donates instruments and teaches inmates music and DJ'ing in juvenile detention and adult prisons, bringing hope and light to these individuals. I have met the founder of this org, and she is a truly amazing, giving person who cares! The organization has an extremely talented and experienced staff and has incredible support from governments, private businesses and other nonprofits. Making a difference, one instrument at a time!

The No Square Theatre is a local icon and brings funny original plays to our community. There isn't anything like this in any other community around us and the hard work the Board, Actors and Volunteers perform is amazing. This community needs them, now more than ever!

You guys rock! I have participate in triathlons with you guys and thanks for fighting the good fight!

Is this the same non profit who is evicting working citizens in San Clemente from their homes at Vista del Mar apartments???? Why????? That is the most asinine thing I have heard in a long time. Are you using a non profit as a tax shelter???? What, the return on your tax exempt status gives you a better return on your money???? How rude to do what you are doing. You should be ashamed of yourselves!

I have been a member of the Assistance League Laguna Beach for almost eight years and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. This is an organization who members are dedicated to improving our community and giving back to those in need, making a huge impact on their lives, as well as ours. Knowing your dedication and hard work is making such a difference to so many is a personal satisfaction we all enjoy. I am extremely proud of our Chapter and will continue to work to further new programs to put caring and commitment into action throughout our philanthropic programs. <br>Judy Soulakis

I joined a local CSTC chapter more than five years ago. I attend 6 roundtable events DURING tax season where I can take my difficult tax questions and seek answers from experienced chapter members. I attend 7 evening events during the off-season where I not only receive quality, affordable education in various topics of the members choice but also have a chance to network with professionals in my area. CSTC has been a valuable asset to both my business, and to my personal well-being in all matters "Tax." With 18 chapters across California, CSTC live education events are available to most practitioners in the state. Chapters also hold full day events, and Society holds a 2-day update and a 3-day Symposium with top-notch instructors.

The enthusiasm this group has for educated the public about frogs is incredible!

This organization is the real deal. Founder Chris Casey trekked Nepal in 2004, came back to the U.S. determined to help the lice-ridden, malnourished kids without parents to protect them who were begging in the streets, and within 3 years had founded this home for 22 or so children. They get nourishing food, clothing, medical care, and schooling 6 days a week in a family-like atmosphere. Everyone pitches in to keep the home clean and running well. It is very basic but what a difference for children who would otherwise be poverty-stricken, in poor health, and possibly sold into slavery or killed for their organs. It is a miracle for these children, who will be encouraged to learn a trade or go to college when the time comes. They do so much with very little - their annual budget is amazingly modest. Good to know too is that the organization's accounting and record keeping are above reproach.

I went on a missions trip to Oaxaca, Mexico with a team from my church in 2008. During our trip I met this young pastor that lived in that area who had a passion for reaching the rural poor coffee farmers in the mountains of southern Oaxaca. He was involved with the www.GrowersFirst.org group that was also working in those remote, hard to reach areas. <br> <br>During one of our conversations this pastor said that the next day, he and the Growers First team were going to take a 3 hour trip up the mountain to have a meeting with the coffee farmers to see if Growers First could help them and their communities. <br> <br>He asked me if I would be interested in joining them on the trip up the mountains so I asked the team I was with if that would be OK and everyone agreed that it would be a great opportunity to learn more about the ministry that Growers First in doing so I went. <br> <br>That one day trip changed my life! <br> <br>During the meeting, one of the coffee farmers poured out his heart on how he is losing his family because he is unable to support them through his hard work on his coffee farm. Because he is unable to get a decent price for his coffee, he is at the mercy of the local "Coyotes" as he called them. These are businessmen that travel up the mountains and purchase coffee from farmers that do not have the means to transport their coffee down to sell directly at a higher price. <br> <br>The young men in the villages have been looking at their dad's struggles and have been leaving to the city and/or other countries to generate income and lively hoods thus leaving the older men to harvest the crops. <br> <br>I vowed at that moment that I would join Growers First in helping these poor, hard working farmers create a more sustainable income that would help to keep their families intact! <br> <br>I started out as a volunteer then moved to a part time position and now I am a full time employee of Growers First! <br> <br>This has turned out to be my dream job! Helping the poor and becoming part of these awesome farmers families!

I am a personal friend of the founder, Andy Leaf, and am continually impressed with Andy's cheerful initiative, his breath and depth of knowledge and his wisdom and grace. His business plan for this current initiative appears to be solid, well concieved and certian to be widely valued by others. This organization has attracted an impressive cross-section of dedicated volunteers and supporters. If anything, we suffer from an over abundance of optimism and hope.
