Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Arts & Culture, Theater
Mission: To provide an environment to promote cultural and performing arts for the residents of the bureau county, il area and others within 125 mile radius. To involve and educate youth in the performing arts and related activities at a truly professional level outside of familiar educational settings.
Programs: In 2011, our seventh year for the festival 56 season, we had 10 main stage professional theater productions. Seven of them were staged in our own building, the grace performing arts center located at 316 s main st, princeton, il. Two of the produ ctions were staged at princetons local high school and one continous production was staged in the soldiers and sailors park located in downtown princeton. The local park production was free to the public and attendence was increased again this year. The illinois theater conservancy board of directors is working on developing our educational classes for 2012. We still plan to open a secondary performing arts school as the economy improves. Construction proceeds as time and money allow. The economy has slowed our progress.
