Causes: Cancer
Mission: Cure pediatric cancer by raising money to fund early clinical development of promising therapies for the treatment of children with cancer. Unite many of the pediatric brain cancer foundations to create a cohesive voice in the fight against pediatric cancer. Bring awareness to the lack of funding for pediatric cancer research.
Programs: The orgainzation is a pediatric cancer foundation whose primary goal is to raise money specifically for pediatric cancer research. The organization was founded in 2013. In 2014, the organization held a fundraiser at the mayflower hotel in washington, dc. The organization has identified a phase i trial out of children's hospital in boston the organization will invest in. Right now, the trial is in process, and the drug is currently being tested on adults. However, this drug is specifically effective in treating rhabnoid tumors, which primarily occur in children. The doctors running the trial are hopeful they will be able to accept children into the trial in early 2015. (adults are tested first in order to determine that the medication is safe enough to administer to children). The organization plans to donate to this trial as soon as it opens up to receive children.
