For the last 5 years I have been donating hand-made scarves, hats and blankets to Fellowship Square. My donations are always met with appreciative comments and stories about who will be the recipients. I consider myself fortunate that I do not have to worry about food, housing or warmth, and it is wonderful to work with such great people who really care about helping people, but especially seniors in need.
I have volunteered at Fellowship Square and I just love the mission and how everything is run! Providing affordable housing and supportive services for low income seniors is such an important and forgotten aspect of our society. To play a small role in this, and to see an organization doing so well in the cause, is fantastic.
This organization does a phenomenal job when it comes to working with seniors. They strive to provide a sense of community, create amazing experiences via events, and truly care for the residents.
I have been a longtime donor to Fellowship Square including again this year. My connection started with Fellowship House in Woodbridge when our church supported many of the residents at our Senior Citizens luncheons. Dr Hal Deadman, a fellow member of St Matthews was also a key player in the life of FH and advocated regularly for this important assistance program for low income seniors. For several years our Thrivent chapter board met at the facility and we were fortunate to be able to contribute directly. Fellowship Square continues to be a key supporter for this group and I am always impressed with the helpful staff who keeps this valuable benefit going. Thank you for their efforts.
While I have served as a Director (and donor) on the FSF Board since May, 2016 I now have the experience of seeing a friend of my wife's become a resident. Her work friend is a prime example of why homes like FSF are so desperately needed. Her friend is a lower income earner who can't afford to contribute to her employers 401(k), doesn't have much in assets and is paying an exorbitant part of her income for rent in frankly, not a nice place. We placed her name on the waiting list and just yesterday (December 30th) she "got the call" FSF has an apartment for her. My wife is ecstatic for her and her friend is beyond words, in disbelief that she finally will have a great place to live safely for the rest of her life and not have to worry if she can afford the rent and be safe in her environment. Her joy in knowing she is going to live at FSF is worth every minute I've served on the Board to help FSF in its mission and every penny I have donated to this great organization.
As a resident of Reston and a neighbor to Hunters Woods Fellowship House, I am truly impressed by the vibrancy of the seniors living there. It's inspiring to see them actively engaging in activities like walking the trails together and practicing tai chi. Their energy motivates me to be more active myself! I appreciate the valuable work that this organization does.
The work that Fellowship Square does for our seniors is vital to a strong community. I attended their open house recently at Lake Ridge Fellowship House and met residents who love living in a community. To hear the resident's story about her housing journey and the struggles she endured was very moving. I'm so glad that she was able to find a home with Fellowship Square. Thank you to the staff, donors, and volunteers that help make living at a Fellowship Square property special for the residents.
Fellowships Square is the organization that leads by its examples. Moreover, it is not only the non-profit organization that makes a difference in our community and provides affordable housing and services to low-income seniors, but it also offers various programs to support their overall well-being and quality of life. This company goes over and beyond to make the residents lives more comfortably and fulfilling, fostering a sense of community and belonging among its members. Through their dedication and commitment, Fellowships Square truly embodies the values of compassion and service to others.
I am proud to say that I am their volunteer as of December 2022 at their location in Hunter Woods Fellowship House located in Reston. For someone to truly understand what this company is trying to accomplish, I can say that they prioritize the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of their residents, providing a holistic approach to senior care. One may wonder how I know this, and here is my explanation. I know this since I firsthand witnessed the staff at Fellowships Square going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of each resident, treating them with dignity and respect. This level of care and attention to detail sets them apart from other senior living communities in the area. In terms of the activities that are carefully created for the residents, there are a lot of classes that take place every week as well as events. Some of them are the following: Fundamental English class, Joyful Choir, Tuesday Music Cafe, Birthday event, Happy Earth Day, Conversational English, Ink Wash Painting Class, Handbell Class, Smart Phone Photography Class, Bible Study, Health seminars, Maintenance Workshop Class, Cooking class, Walk with us on every Wednesday, etc. Line in line with this, there are meetings where residents are encouraged to participate and express any concerns they may have. What I see is that the residents are heard, and their feedback is taken into consideration when planning future activities and events. In terms of the events that are helping residents to learn about healthy food choices and select the best for them, there is a Fresh Food Distribution program that is taking place on each Thursday and Friday. This is just a segment of what staff at Fellowships Square regularly organizes on a weekly basis to keep the residents active and connected with one another. What I notice is that residents are always engaged and excited to participate in these activities, and they are very happy. So far, I have never noticed that any of the residents are feeling left out or disinterested in the events.
One may wonder why I prefer volunteering for this non-profit organization at least three times per week, and the main reason is that I am speechless when I see with how much passion, dedication, and hard work each of the employees are putting into creating a supportive and engaging community for the residents. It truly warms my heart to witness the positive impact they have on the lives of those they serve. Since this company and their employees inspire me each time to be the best volunteer, it explains why I always make time in my schedule to contribute to their cause. The sense of fulfillment and purpose I gain from being a part of such a dedicated team is unmatched, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through my volunteer work with this organization.

Fellowship Square is an amazing organization not only do they care about the residents, but also about the people working with them! Having interned there, I got to witness the wonderful work that Fellowship Square has provided for its residents such as weekly activities, helpful services, affordable living, and more. I also got to learn more about non-profits and gain insight into how they work. Plus, I received practical and influential skills. Fellowship Square is a great organization and I appreciate them for everything they do!
Fellowship Square has been a blessing to my family. By providing affordable housing for my mother, she has been able to live independently. I’m so happy to have Fellowship Square here in Northern Virginia.
Working as an intern at Fellowship Square was an extremely valuable experience. The staff were supportive and provided me with guidance, and I was able to learn and gain a lot of practical experience. I was also given an opportunity to volunteer at the Hunter Woods property, and the event was well-organized, fun, and lively. It was great to see everyone in the community interact and support each other, including the staff and volunteers, to make the event successful. The organization is genuine, driven, and committed to making a difference in the community, and I'm grateful to have been given the chance to contribute to the important work they do.
I was fortunate enough to be asked to be a Fellowship Square Foundation Board member a little over 3-years ago. I knew a bit about the group, but it wasn't until I became active in Fellowship Square that I gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of this fantastic organization. From Fellowship Board members to house leadership to volunteers and everyone in-between, people are dedicated, proud of what they do and what they accomplish, and usually do all of that with a smile on their face! It makes me feel good when all of this hard work culminates into what is so important to us, assisting our residents to live safe and happy lives, in comfortable spaces, with the benefits that should be afforded to all individuals. I am proud to be a part of the Fellowship Square Foundation and look forward to many more years of involvement with this wonderful organization!
Fellowship Square has one of the safest and most affordable housing for senior adults. FS also has an incredible and super-friendly staff, who genuinely care for people. They are dedicated and solution-oriented, willing to help senior adults to be comfortable in a safe, convenient, and comfortable environment. From a personal experience, I volunteered at one of Fellowship Square’s facilities a couple of times and had an amazing experience each time. The volunteers there are kind, very patient, and work with you.
Unbelievable organization that really impacts local communities. Making certain that our most important community, our elderly, is taken care of is the least that we can do! These folks really know how to optimize their resources in order to help make certain our elder communities are cared for properly in their golden years.
Fellowship Square is an amazing organization with a great staff. The programs offered are really valuable to the residents, and I am looking forward to volunteering more often.
The first time, my girlfriend convinced me to volunteer at Hunters Woods Fellowship House as a date. I'm grateful I joined because it turned out to be a lot of fun. Interacting with the residents, who were genuinely happy to see me, helped me break out of my shell. We decided to return for more volunteering, and one of my most cherished experiences was helping at their holiday party. Witnessing the residents' faces light up when I gave them their gifts was a truly humbling moment.
When I retired I wanted to spend a few hours a month volunteering and thankfully I stumbled upon Fellowship Square and since last year I have volunteered at Hunters Woods Fellowship House. I love the environment, how well coordinated food distribution is and I even enjoyed volunteering at couple events. Being among other seniors reminds me how fortunate I am and I am glad I able to give a helping hand.
I have been a volunteer board member with Fellowship Square for over 6 years! The first thing I noticed when I started volunteering was the organizations dedicated to seniors. After each meeting, I walk away with a sense of satisfaction and pride in the work and mission of the organization.
I am proud to be part of this organization and grateful to all involved for demonstrating the caring values that really make a difference in people's lives. I believe that Fellowship fulfills a real community need by helping seniors live in their homes safely and with access to several support services for a very reasonable rent.
Fellowship Square is a wonderful organization that is helping seniors find affordable housing and other services across the DMV area. They continue to invest in the community and look to expand and develop new properties to help even more seniors, as well as to improve the existing properties. Serving on the Board for the last year and a half has been an honor so far and I look forward to continuing that.
Fellowship Square has been a godsend for elderly friends who do not have the means to remain in Fairfax County - one the highest housing costs in the country. Thanks to FSF, residents have been able to live in close proximity to their families and life-long friends, which is a huge contributor to their happiness and health. In addition, FSF houses offer regular opportunities for residents to celebrate life and participate in music, dance and art workshops as well as other life and spiritually-enriching gatherings.
Their facilities have undergone recent renovations and now look and feel like senior facilities whose monthly rent is many times what FSF charges. In closing, I want to highlight the quality of the staff at the houses as well as the caring and hardworking professionals at the Foundation itself - they are outstanding!

I have volunteered with Fellowship Square since the early 1990s, initially with a HS youth groups I led at churches, but also later after I completed seminary and became a pastor myself. Their mission to provide safe, health affordable housing for the low-income elderly was attracted me from the very beginning. As I experienced the various efforts to continue to serve those in need, I have continued to be impressed with their devotion and dedication to making this happen - and to always be looking for ways to enhance and expand their mission. Now I sit on one of the boards of this NPO and couldn't be prouder to see all the "behind the scenes" work that goes into making it such a valuable part of the communities we serve.
This organization has been intelligent and proactive in updating and replacing aging infrastructure. Ensure that residents have a wonderful and affordable place to live. Many more people will get to enjoy these buildings over the years thanks to Fellowship Squares investment in the communities. Strong financial stewardship allows this non-profit to do what is does. Well done to Christy Zeitz and her team.
I see so many activities and programs at all three campuses, with the programs and services being individualized to fit with the demographics of the community. A lot of thought and planning occurs by the Programming managers, volunteer manager, and service coordinators to assure that programs are ones that the residents want or need while also fitting with the goal of attending to spiritual, educational, physical, and mental health. The staff cares for the residents. The residents smile in all candid shots of events. The Foundation just completed the renovation of on community's building and built a new one, with staff managing the moves by all impacted residents. So much advance planning and thoughtful measures! Astonishing and successful.
Outstanding mission to serve low-income seniors in Fairfax, Prince William and Prince George's Counties. Fellowship Square has a wonderful staff and property management. This nonprofit invests a lot of resources in providing quality services and programs for their residents in addition to advocating for more affordable housing for our seniors. Upcoming new construction and renovation projects will greatly benefit the residents and surrounding community.

I was drawn to this organization because shelter is one of life's basic needs for survival. We have many older Americans that have worked their entire lives and still don't have enough income in retirement to live, not just shelter to survive but a loving supporting home to thrive in. This is that Organization! They provide a wonderful environment so people may Thrive!
Fellowship Square is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization that serves seniors by providing low-income affordable housing. The locally based organization raises money to enrich the lives of its residents, improve the HUD-supported housing they sponsor and expand the number of affordable senior housing units available in the area. Affordable, appropriate housing for seniors is in short supply in the Washington DC area. Fellowship Square is the leading locally-based not-for-profit organization addressing this need.
Fellowship Square Foundation provides high quality affordable housing opportunities for low income senior citizens in Maryland and Virginia. The mission of the organization and more importantly, how it manages its properties in response to the needs of the residents is apparent in the high satisfaction of all.
Fellowship Square is providing an important service to Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland where housing is less and less affordable for older adults with limited income and resources. What makes the four houses they oversee different is the variety of programs, services and support provided to residents. These kinds of things are only made possible by community sponsors and individual contributions.
Friendly staff and very helpful! I really enjoyed my experience volunteering for Fellowship Square and I think they have an important mission.
My mom lives at Lake Anne Fellowship House for 2+ years. She is happy and always enjoyed the weekly activities. The staff there is very friendly and competent. They work hard to keep the communities a great place for seniors. She also is very excited to see the new Lake Anne Fellowship House in the next couple years.
I was on the Board of Fellowship Square Foundation and Lake Anne Fellowship House for 2+ years. FSF provides vibrant, loving and affordable communities for older adults in the Northern Virginia area. The staff and volunteers are dedicated and the residents create caring neighborhoods within their buildings. I am very excited to see the new facilities coming to Reston for Lake Anne Fellowship House in the next several years. This is a non-profit that I will continue to support due to the benefits to my community!
I am a resident at Lake Anne Fellowship House. The staff here is the best: friendly and competent. I enjoy the activities every week. My favorites are the exercise class, health screenings, and the informative talks. I also like the common areas where you can sit, relax and meet other residents.
My mom moved into Lake Anne Fellowship House in 1995 and still resides there today. She has always enjoyed the fellowship of the community of people in the building and still sits in the common area on a regular basis to enjoy the activity. The residents are very friendly and the staff looks out for her. Mom and our family are very blessed to have her in such a place.
As a member of the Board of LAFH, I am also very impressed with the level of commitment of the other Board members and of the staff of FSF to this project. It is a blessing to serve.

There is no other organization that cares for Seniors and the disabled in such a complete and meaningful way. They provide extraordinary wrap around services with s smile. Great place to work as well.
Fellowship Square is an organization that truly put its residents and their best interests first. Walking through the buildings and talking to residents, its evident that both residents and staff not only support the mission but live and breathe it.
I could go on and on sharing information about Largo Landing Fellowship House. First of all the tenant's actually are like family after getting to know them. I've learned that senior's have a lot of interesting stories to share about their so-call "younger days" and life style. They love to talk about the children and grandchildren. The respect and joy I give and receive from the tenants are really touching to my heart. It's amazing how those tenants that relocated to live with family or moved to other senior developments regret leaving Largo Landing Fellowship House. This is a great place to live and I enjoy working here and looking forward to seeing the senior's each day. They just love the many activities and social gatherings we have on a regular basis. .
Awesome place to live and work. Dedicated first and foremost to residents they serve. Neat clean, and well maintained facilities for an affordable housing. Largo Landing is one of the houses and is kept like a five star hotel. Will recommend fellowship houses to anyone who values quality.
Provides the best housing for senior living at a affordable rate. Ensures the staff running the facilities is very proficient and property management is well educated and experienced.
