Programs: The phoenix chamber music society endowment was established to help support the phoenix chamber music society. Phoenix chamber music society is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes and develops an understanding of chamber music through concerts and recitals. Phoenix chamber music society serves people who have a passion for chamber music, students in schools studying music, people who want to learn about chamber music, and people who come from other states and countries for our week-long winter festival with artistic director, david shifrin, internationally-renowned clarinetist. Recognizing the unique structure of chamber music, it has been our goal to engage current and potential audience members of all ages in the intimate setting of chamber music in various venues in the valley. With a mix of classical ensembles who have been performing for many years, and a new genre of practitioners who compose and play a much more modern version of chamber music. In the last two years, we have had the harlem string quartet, ying string quartet, la guitar quartet, and the fantastic imani wind quintet all of whom bring in a diverse in age, and ethnicity populations and sell out their performances. Each of these ensembles performs master classes, demonstrations and performances with students in the arizona school for the arts and rosies house. Our education programs have dramatically increased over the years and we are serving hundreds of students across the valley. Our partnership with schools serves instrumental students in each of the schools, teachers with whom the artists work, and the parents whose children receive one-on-one coaching and mentoring from recognized experts in their field. Students who participate in the master classes and their parents attend performances of each of the participating chamber groups, and students in each school can purchase tickets at greatly reduced prices based on availability.
