Programs: The operation of a theatre for live theatrical and music productions. The metropolis operates two types of shows - produced shows which are comprised of legitimate and well-known theatrical shows and presented shows which are comprised of concerts, comedy and related events. The metropolis performing arts centre embraces the principle of a well-rounded and interesting menu of options for patrons including: - high-visibility plays and musicals- wide range of concerts including rock, cabaret, folk, classical and other forms- stand-up, sketch and improv comedy- children's and middle-school theater and entertainmentduring 2017, there were 160 produced shows and over 100 presented shows plus a number of performances by the metropolis' school of performing arts. In total, there were over 265 perfomances with over 50,000 paid attendees.
the promotion of education of performing arts in the community covering drama and music serving over 900 students during 2017. The drama & dance school encompasses group classes, private coaching sessions, camps, school productions, and outreach programs. Group classes are offered in acting, musical theatre, improv and dance for all ages. The music school encompasses group classes, ensembles, private lessons and coachings, workshops and camps. Group classes are offered in voice, guitar and piano for various age groups. All of these classes are taught by experienced, working professionals who give students the opportunity to grow in their theatrical and musical skills through fundamental lessons, in-class games and exercises, group activities and performances.
