Programs: The green lane project program helps cities build better bike lanes to create low-stress streets. We partner with transportation engineers, urban planners, designers, and cycling advocates to create protected bike lanes, which are on-street lanes separated from traffic by curbs, planters, parked cars, or posts. The green lane project hosts hands-on workshops and study tours for city leaders, provides technical and strategic assistance, and delivers targeted grants designed to get protected bike lanes on the ground. The end goal is to make bicycling safer and more appealing.
the individual outreach campaign is an initiative to gather 1 million names of support, and to empower these supporters to speak with one, powerful voice - to make bicycling safe, more convenient, and appealing for everyone.
the better bike share partnership is a jpb foundation-funded collaboration between the city of philadelphia, bicycle coalition of greater philadelphia, the national association of city transportation officials (nacto) and peopleforbikes to build equitable and replicable bike share systems. Peopleforbikes is administering $900,000 in grant funding over three years (through june 30, 2017) to partnerships of bike share operators, cities and local non-profits to help u. S. Cities develop and implement strategies to increase bike share use in their own underserved communities. Peopleforbikes is also managing a storytelling effort to better communicate the approaches, successes and challenges of thegrantees through blogs, articles, images and videos.
