This group is about creating a world where every woman and her children can thrive free of poverty and great need. Our families and friends have tirelessly and generously supported us in this work year after year, making it possible to continue doing it. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, THANK YOU!!!!
Having worked for an international charity that focused on women and children before my retirement to Boulder 2 years ago, I was thrilled to discover BoldeReach. Each year the group vets various charities that aid women and children around the world before selecting one as its beneficiary of the year. The organization hosts a Gala where over 95% of the money raised goes to the beneficiary. By being an all volunteer organization with no staff or overhead, costs are extremely low. BoldeReach also hosts monthly educational outreach sessions called Conversations to raise awareness of international issues within the community.
I first discovered BoldeReach when it chose a charity I volunteered for as its beneficiary. Together, the two organizations held a very successful fundraiser, that gave a great boost to the beneficiary's work of preventing and freeing children from sexual trafficking. I was so impressed by the quality, candor, intelligence, and hard work of the BoldeReach Board that I was honored to be invited to join them. Over five years, I watched these extraordinary women devote their time, talent, treasure, and unfailing good humor to learning about, promoting, and raising funds for several terrific Colorado-based international charities devoted to helping our global sisters and our global children lead healthier, safer lives through: --microcredit loans, --clean water and sanitation projects, --rapid response grants for urgent human rights issues, --education and leadership classes for orphans and low-income children, and this year --bicycles for healthcare providers and low-income families I left the Board ONLY because of a need to focus on other areas of my life, but I could not admire this group of women more. They are role models for how to behave in a world that cries out for help, justice, and love.
BoldeReach is unique as it offers a fresh approach to fundraising: There is no office or staff to pay. Over 90% of all monies raised annually goes directly to the organization selected to fund in any given year. It allows people with various skills to enter the organization easily. The educational component-from the intense vetting of an organization, to Conversations, a monthly program designed to enlighten people to the needs of women and children worldwide- is part of what makes this such a dynamic opportunity for people to volunteer their time and energy. And for an organization to be selected to receive funds from BoldeReach is an enormous boost to their bottom line and their ability to give to their constituents in that year.
BoldeReach is a very powerful non-profit raising money for the most important causes. A small group of women and a group of volunteers together raises the bar for other organization's impact.
I've been involved with BoldeReach for a short time but the energy and passion around helping women and children need around the world is extraordinary.
BoldeReach, a group of a dozen volunteers, has raised over $500,000 to benefit organizations helping women and children in dire need around the world. Our funding has brought water and sanitation to India, Malawi, Rwanda; education to Afghanistan and Kenya; microcredit loans to Guatemala; helped prevent child trafficking in Nepal and contributed to women's human rights projects around the world. We are hoping to expand our "reach" by helping others to replicate our successful model in other cities.
BoldeReach was started by a group of Boulder-area women to raise awareness and funds to address in a culturally sensitive way the health, safety and educational needs of women and children living in desperate circumstances around the world. We leverage our passion and connections in the community to support existing non-profit organizations which are already doing great work in the world. Each year we choose a specific issue for our fundraising and interview related non-profits for projects that match our mission. Once we identify and vet the organization and project(s), we build our educational programs and fund raising project around the issue and chosen recipient.
