Causes: Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health
Mission: To enhance the growth and development of individuals of all ages, to strengthen family life and to contribute to the social-psychological well-being of the community. These objectives are accomplished through providing therapeutic, rehabilitative, educational, and preventative outreach and mutual support services.
Programs: Clinic: outpatient mental health services-individual & group-providing psychotherapeutic services to a large catchment area principally located in south nassau.
chemical dependency treatment: education and treatment for alcohol addiction on an outpatient basis.
community support services and special employment: support programs for the chronically mentally ill that have allowed them to live more self sufficiently within the community through social and vocational support.
services to the frail & elderly that has allowed them to live in the community with continued support including day care, case management, health screening, recreational therapy and transportation.
