Mission: To educate and inspire the community through offering high caliber art exhibits, supporting the development of local artists, and providing education programs for all ages.
Programs: Pence art galleryjuly 2016 - june 2017 (fiscal year 2017)natalie nelson, directorduring the fiscal year 2017, the pence gallery served onsite and through outreach, over 16,269 people. We also embarked on many public education programs, each for a different audience. For school children, our artsmart program served 649 children and youth from kindergarten to 12th grade from davis public, private, and home schools. The school program focused on 4 different exhibits and related art projects. For adult audiences, we had a series of hands-on art workshops, talks, art receptions, and poetry readings that served 4,483 people. We also initiated a music/art event series, called art after dark, which served 713 individuals. For special events, we served 1,150 people and this includes our art auction, createfest, and the garden tour. In terms of gallery attendance, we served 7,897 people, and this includes the special programs mentioned before, which may have been offered at outreach locations.
