Programs: "accomplished unmh financial policy change, effectively ensuring that uninsured residents of bernalillo county have access to unmh services on an affordable payment plan without being sent to collections "co-hosted 3 community forums on mental health, civic engagement and economic opportunity to educate local policy makers. "launched fuente crdito microloan program with the national council of la raza "founding member of inclusive democracy, voting rights coalition, launched in august 2016. "pca members attended conference on automatic voter registration at new york university "hosted organized and implemented monthly support sessions for pca's child care provider network "educators para los ninos del futuro" "pca members attended and presented at the uplan convening (united parent leaders action network) june 21-24, 2016 in pittsburgh, pa "engaged with owners of neighboring properties to discuss their future plans with properties and to envision development of pca campus "led the development and design of the pescer minimal viable product (mvp), launching in last quarter of 2017 "worked on local economic development strategies with non-profit allies and living cities/city alive partners to prepare for implementation phase of living cities/city alive project "designed and launched targeted social media / traditional campaign on opioid addiction to reach 5,000 families "hosted 10 monthly pca community coalition meetings at alamosa community center. ~220 community leaders participated in all 10 meetings. Agendas consisted of: legislative priorities & civic activity; effective communication with partners; family emergency plan, power of attorney & mexican consulate presented on resources for families; rgcu presentation on resources for families, legislative updates, parent engagement strategies "communities for education and action parent leadership courses and place- based organizing strategies launched and completed at 12 local schools/communities "engaged w. K. Kellogg foundation's program related investment team in detroit and presented on pca campus build-out and social enterprise center. Follow up meeting in albuquerque in late october "pca community coalition has self organized into working committees including an art and creativity committee, community events committee, policy development committee, and a community engagement committee "adrian and javier successfully completed a three-year w. K. Kellogg foundation community leadership network fellowship "hosted more than 100 allies, members and partners at our annual holiday posada celebration at the pca campus "pca community coalition working committees have continued to meet and engage in art activities including the community table project and tile project "successfully completed gotv efforts in the armijo neighborhood otargeted 500+ voters over three weeks "completed community health worker class at pca "cea facilitators trained in "know your rights trainings. " "pca members met with apd chief eden, sheriff gonzales, and mayor richard berry to engage in a conversation about the new executive orders and the concerns we have been seeing in the communities and families whom we serve. "new cea facilitators visited the round house & they learned about the process. "150 community members participated in the 1000 kid march at the capitol. "45 members of the educadores para los nios del futuro provider network and facilitators of cea attended the annual conference of new mexico association for the education of young children, an early childhood conference for community and emerging professionals of early ed. The network conducted one of the workshops during the conference. "educadores para los nios del futuro has successfully maintained & recruited new members. They have become a self-sustained group. One of the members has opened her center. We are currently working with cyfd to make changes to make documentation bilingual for providers. "pca is collaborating on international workers day event, may 1, 2017 from 4-7pm at tiguex park. We will be organizing families and contacting potential partners for this event. The event is to demonstrate unity between our diverse communities and stand in solidarity with one another on issues that effect us. "on february 16-19, 2017 pca participated in the us regional world meeting of popular movements in modesto, california. A delegation from new mexico attended. The delegation comprised of organizations and members from northern, central and southern new mexico. After the meeting we came together to discuss our experiences and how we can work closer with the archdiocese of santa fe. Follow up includes know your rights trainings at local parishes as well as intentional organization "we continue to partner with explora and offering engineering hands-on workshops for children in collaboration with parents. "pca community coalition working committees have continued to meet and engage in art-making and in agriculture capacity building related to the community table and tile projects "hosted a national film crew for interviews with pca parents and staff on behalf of the kellogg foundation "hosted training on budget fairness and justice with pca facilitators with the goal of building a core team that will advocate for access to health care and a fair economy "pca hosted immigrant community celebration on june 17th at the pca campus. More than 125 families gathered for a day of healing and celebration. "pca completed the 2016-2017 communities for education and action cycle. We trained 120 new leaders through the ap, cofi curricula and also through the home based provider network. Pca has met with the aps superintendent for the sw quadrant and will be entering into a strategic partnership with aps for cea in 2017-2018. "hosted the ceo of the wk kellogg foundation and engaged in a racial equity workshop in preparation for the national kellogg board meeting. "hosted 5 stakeholder meetings regarding the sec at the pca, including community members and potential funders. "hosted 7 summer interns through the yes summer internship program. "hosted pca staff/board retreat on june 15th. "pca board members and leaders participated in national family and community engagement conference 6/22-6/24, san franciscoco, , ca. "implemented health care for all summit on june 30th - purpose is to build a cross-racial, cross-geographic coalition of immigrant, chicano and native american leaders around the issue of universal access to quality health care. 35 leaders participated. We're currently developing an 18-month strategic plan for this project. "cea expansion to santa fe: pca led 10- week, ap course with 18 immigrant leaders through the santa fe-based earth care. Course ends on july 28th.
