Mission: The mission of the parish children's school is to identify, educate, and empower children who have language and learning differences. The parish children's school specializes in early language intervention and individualized instruction with a focus on the education of the whole child.
Programs: The parish children's school is a therapeutic preschool and elementary day school for children with average to above average potential who have language and/or learning differences from age 2 through 12. The parish children's school works closely with the carruth center, inc. To address both the therapeutic and instructional needs of children. The goal is to provide each child the training and compensatory skills necessary to succeed in a traditional setting. Parent education is also crucial to allow parents to be effective advocates for their children.
My son started at The Parish School in the summer of 2008. Then, he was only two years-old. He didn't have any language, was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth and had no eye contact. He was soon diagnosed with high-functioning Autism. Four years later, he has been taken completely off the Autism Spectrum! Thanks to the caring, hard working teachers, therapists and staff at The Parish School, my son is thriving! He's playing soccer, speaking in complete sentences and smiling while looking at you in the eyes. I need to give credit where credit is due. The Parish School works miracles every day as they see every child as an individual with unlimited potential.
