Causes: Arts & Culture, Film & Video
Mission: To help local activists and artists make media that is consistently articulate, artistic, and thought-provoking for little or no money.
Programs: For fiscal year 2016/2017 our organization continued to provide free access to resources for community media through our support towards media artists, community media education programs, and community engagement programming. We hosted free movie screening on current social justice issues during the summer of 2017 in collaboration with the loft cinema. We hosted and mentored a youth media production group called team taking extreme advantage of media led by four youth members. We held three public events with them during the fiscal year which served approx. 30 youths. They produced one video on behalf of pan lef and members participated with their work at first fridays at loft cinema. We recruited and trained volunteers to create videos related to this project and other homeless issues with local and international live streaming.
