Programs: Exhibitspacific science center in seattle is washington's leading institution for fun and engaging learning for children, families and guests of all ages. Explore hundreds of interactive exhibits, wander among fluttering tropical butterflies, touch live marine animals, explore distant galaxies and immerse yourself in a giant-screen imax film. Popular attractions include the insect village, science on a sphere, tinker tank, tropical butterfly house, puget sound tide pool, dinosaurs: a journey through time, professor wellbody's academy of health & wellness and much more. Every visit to the science center is unique, engaging and fun for the whole family. Last year our science on a sphere experience allowed us to serve 15,063 guests. Staff presented dozens of shows including pale blue dot, ancient earth, earhtquakes, volcanoes, alien landscape, ocean: the motion potion, what's the weather, hurricanes, polar regions, changing earth and climate change. The sphere alow allowed science interpretation staff to present "rapid respones" show that showcased data sets based on weather occurences currently happening around the world.

outreach educationscience on wheels: since 1973, science on wheels has been reaching out to rural, small and underserved communities that have limited access to stem education. Last year, we delivered hands-on science education programming to more than 150,000 people at over 550 venues across washington state and beyond, including many communities traditionally underrepresented in science. About half of our in-school programs were at locations where more than 40 percent of students qualify for subsidized lunches.

theater and event operationspacific science center is home to seattle's ultimate imax experience. Explore deep oceans, travel to the farthest reaches of our universe, go back in time to worlds undiscovered and immerse yourself in a cinematic experience like no other. Films come to life in our paccar and boeing imax theaters putting you right in the action with giant screens, crystal clear images and 12,000 watts of digital surround sound. Both theaters show 2d and 3d films that take advantage of our state-of-the-art imax 3d technology. Pacific science center is now home to the most full-color lasers permanently installed in any laser dome in america. Our new laser dome operates with a brand new laser system. This new system uses nine rainbow fx laser projectors, filling the dome with vibrant color and light.
