I have been a volunteer, transporter and foster home for Ohio English Setter Rescue (OESR). I have worked with many rescue organizations, both in the horse rescue and dog rescue world. None has impressed me more than OESR. This organization is truly dedicated to its mission, and maintains a level of transparency so needed in the non-profit world today. As a donator, you can see your dollars at work, and receive information and follow up on the dogs that have been helped. Within the last year, I have also become an adopter. Excellent organization!
Ohio English Setter Rescue is a top quality organization. Some rescues are more bark than bite; they may have a fancy website and present themselves well on the surface but they fall short where it counts, animal care and adoption.
I am the founder of my own rescue after finding that I was dissatisfied with the way that some of the rescues I had worked with in the past were run and the way animals were cared for. Because I believe that the care given to both the animals and the process of finding the right homes for them is so high quality, I have actually fostered for OESR while operating my own rescue, and will be getting a second foster this week. I could not do this if I did not feel that OESR cared as much about my foster dogs as I do. Wonderful group!
OESR is awesome!! My brother adopted Maddie and Jax from them and I adopted Charlie and Lucy recently from them. They love their dogs and make sure they are going to a family who fits them. It takes a lot of love and money to do what they do for these poor dogs! They R #1 in my bookk!
Ohio English Setter Rescue (OESR) is a non-profit organization aimed specifically at the rescue and re-homing through adoption of English Setters. Founded and run by the profoundly dedicated Susan England and a small team of volunteers, OESR works by finding homes for English Setters who have been abandoned or surrendered by their owner - either into shelters or directly to OESR - and placing them, initially, with foster carers and, ultimately, in permanent homes. I have donated, and will continue to donate, money to OESR as I have complete assurance that the money given goes directly to the housing, veterinary care, and general maintenance of the dogs OESR helps, and that the dogs are treated with the highest level of respect and care. Ms England has chosen to keep OESR operating at a level commensurate with the services she can confidently provide, meaning that all dogs coming under the care of OESR will have their needs individually assessed and met. Although there is an endless supply of dogs needing homes, OESR is reliably successful at finding the foster carers, transporters, vet care and funds necessary to meet its requirements. Its stories of successful adoptions are numerous. I have supported many non-profil organizations over the years, and this is one of the few I have felt confident in endorsing unreservedly.
