Mission: Orlando Opera Company, OOC, founded in 1958, is committed to presenting consistently well-crafted opera and music theatre productions of the highest possible caliber, to nurturing new talent and bringing major international talent to Central Florida, and to maintaining a long-standing commitment to education and outreach.
OOC's mission includes (1) fostering a greater understanding of, and appreciation for opera; (2) providing a wide range of repertoire with a variety and balance of scale, style, language and period to engage both developed and emerging audiences; (3) presenting opera and music theatre in a variety of settings, to make opera accessible to as wide a segment of the community as possible; (4) looking for collaborators and musical/theatrical experiences that provide access, outreach, and education for people of all ages and cultural diversity in the community.
