Mission: Founded in 1994, Operafestival di Roma seeks to provide a high quality performing and training experience in Italian opera. The program brings 50 singers and instrumentalists to Rome each summer to rehearse and perform an opera and to take part in individual voice lessons, diction classes, individual coaching, masterclasses, and opera scenes class. The festival culminates with public performances of a fully-staged opera accompanied by the International Chamber Ensemble Orchestra and presented in S. Ivo alla Sapienza in central Rome. Past opera presentations have been: Die Zauberflote, Il barbiere di Siviglia, L'elisir d'amore, Cosi fan tutte, La vedova allegra, Le nozze di Figaro, I Pagliacci, and Suor Angelica.
