Mission: 1995 was our first tour and we continue to grow.  In 2000, we had 135 artists in 106 different studio locations.  Participants design their own tour and can spend as much time as they like with any artists they choose.  The event is two consecutive weekends in October.  Attendees can visit an exhibit where each artist has a piece on display and can purchase a color Guide which includes a detailed map of studio locations.

Every year since the beginning, the Open Studio weekends are the BEST. We have done it with friends, on our bikes and enjoyed some beautiful mountain drives in the foliage visiting studios.

We attend Open Studios each October and it continues to get better and better. The studio visits are fun and informative, and we love adding seeing, and buying, new art.

The extraordinary talent among our artists is amazing. I have met artists who show their artwork in many corners of the world and have been blown away by our new and emerging artists as well. It's impossible to pick a favorite but for the sake of variety, our "3-demensional" artists (i.e, jewelry, sculpting, furniture, pottery, turned wood, fiber) are simply the best. How lucky that we live in a community where these artists are our next door neighbors. Forget Santa Fe...the best artists are right here in Boulder.

The Open Studios fall event is always a cool weather highlight for me! I love seeing my favorite local painters in action and having the chance to interact with them about their process. The experience is always so creative and inspiring. I'm also delighted that Open Studios is branching out with new educational programs like Clementine Studio and the 29th street Art Fair. I rely on Open Studios to be a strong supporter of the visual arts in Boulder believe their educational programs make Boulder a well rounded, special destination for the arts.

I am both a practicing artist and a high school art educator. My students and I not only enjoy seeing professional artists in their studios, but we also benefit from the Education Links program that brings some of those artists to our classroom to assist with instruction during our projects. Open Studios is absolutely invaluable to my students seeing themselves as emerging artists becoming vital parts of their communities.

What a marvelous organization! I loved volunteering for and seeing the amazing art at the 29th street fair! And I can't wait for October to go visit the artists in their environs for the yearly open studio artists tour. Open Arts is simply beautiful!

I have participated in the Open Studios fall tour of artists' studios for 14 years. For many people in Boulder it is an important family tradition to visit artist's studios, and many visit their favorite studios every year. As an artist it have given me exposure in the community more than any other event, and sales from it has allowed me to make art full time. It has given people an exposure to and understanding of fine photography, and overall has brought art into many peoples lives.

Open Studios has helped to transform me from an amateur to a professional artist. I first exhibited in 2001. Since that time Open Studios has been my soul source of public exposure and sales. Each year I receive more kudos and invaluable feedback. Sales during the two weekends and resulting commissions have kept me prosperous and busy. And all this while having fun. I have nothing but praise for Open Studios. It is run with competence and compassion. It nurtures both the artist and the community. It is a source of great joy.
