Causes: Arts & Culture, Music
Mission: Provide and promote the community of ogden with live traditional and contemporary acoustic/americana music. Provide education musical opportunities for all, with a focus on youth. Attract visitors from outside the region to help develop weber county and ogden's destinations for arts.
Programs: Ogden music festival: 10th annual 3-day outdoor festivial with on-site camping featuring outstanding local, regional, national and international artists in the generes of bluegrass, fold, americana, rockabilly, and old time country feturing a diversity that appeals to all ages. The events are accessible to families with reasonable admission rates and free admission to 18 and under. Ofoam offers educational musical opportunities in the form of hands-on instrument opportunities and educational workshops. Ofoam is host to nationally sanctioned utah state instrument championships in finger style guitar, clat pick guitar, banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. In association, a free-to-the public outreach concert featuring a healiner from the festival state is offered at an outside venue.
outreach concerts: in conjuction with both music festivals, ofoam presents two free-to-the-public concerts geared towards inspiring youth to learn to play traditional musical instruments and sing.
ogden blues festival: the 5th annual 3 day outdoor music festival with on-site camping featuring incredible blues and americana roots musicians from across the united states. Held in beautiful weber count north fork park in upper ogden valley, this is a perfect destination spot for locals and tourists alike. As is for all of ofaom events, kids 16 & under are admitted free. There are hiking and biking trails, kids arts & crafts activities and the utah drum bus for a hands-on percussive musical experience making this a great family event.
