Northwest Professional Dance Project

Programs: - 18 new dance works created and performed. - company completed 4 successful home season performances and national touring to bring audiences together to experience innovative and original contemporary dance works, including debut performances (six) at the country's most revered dance festival, jacobs pillow. - enriching the lives of our local constituents with dance, movement and creation through our increased educational and outreach programing for adults and youth, including offering 48 classes per week and expanding our dance moves outreach program serving youth to also serve adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. - held our pretty creatives international choreographic competition that awarded creative and performance residencies to choreographers, alice klock and alysa pires. - held two successful training programs for aspiring dancers, launch (age 20+ / 36 dancers) and summer dancer intensive (ages 14-22 / 93 dancers). Both programs involved daily dance classes, mastery of nw dance projects select original repertoire, and mastery of new dance works which were performed at program-concluding public theater performances. - resident choreographer ihsan rustems carmen production set all-time local show attendance and revenue records. The piece won dance magazines coolest collaboration for 2017. - voted best dance company and best dance studio for third year in a row via willamette week readers poll- provided raises and maintained fully-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for all staff artists and added a new part-time administrative assistant position.
