Causes: Economic Development, Environment, Forest Conservation, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: To strengthen the ecological and economic vitality of northwest forests and communities by providing people with the knowledge, skills, and markets they need to steward their lands.
Programs: The northwest natural resource group helps landowners to practice ecological forestry on their land. Dedicated to promoting a sustainable, environmentally sound economy in the pacific northwest, we work primarily on forestlands owned and managed by private landowners, smaller forest product companies, local governments, sovereign indian nations, and non-profit organizations. Our primary tools to accomplish this mission are forest planning and management services; educational workshops; group certification under the auspices of the forest stewardship council (r) on ownerships totaling 190,000 acres in oregon and washington; and expertise in connecting landowners with sources of landowner assistance.
