Mission: To engage in activities that further the common good and promote the general welfare of the communities in northwest colorado, and that are specifically related to improving and expanding broadband connectivity, and maximizing the ability to enter into public/private agreements to promote these goals.
Programs: In 2017, routt county, yampa valley medical center and steamboat springs school district completed construction of a network of approximately 12 miles of fiber optic cable, funded by federal and state grants and local sources, and entered into indefeasible right to use agreements with northwest colorado broadband, thus allowing ncb to a) provide more affordable, ample, reliable and redundant broadband service to additional community anchor institution facilities of routt county, the city of steamboat springs, steamboat springs school district, ucheath yampa valley medical center and yampa valley electric association, and b)provide open access to internet service providers (isps). On a parallel track, ncb completed business planning and contracted with a network operator.
