Causes: Biomedicine & Bioengineering Research, Health
Mission: To promote public understanding of biomedical research and its ethical conduct.
Programs: Education and community outreach - provision of conferences for the biomedical research community, including annual conferences that focus on animal care and use (iacuc conference), protections for human research subjects (irb conference), biosafety (ibc conference) and overall security and communications. Additionally providing opportunities for members of the public and school students to engage with biomedical science and ethical issues through the community conversations, middle and high school science competitions and summer science camps for high school students.
member services - provision of direct support to member organizations to ensure that they can maintain up to date professional development, advice, workshops and other support necessary to the responsive development of biomedical research in the pacific northwest.
