Causes: Emergency Assistance, Human Services
Mission: Nfcc compassionately offers hope and dignity to north fulton families and individuals in need. Our mission is to build self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness and hunger in our community by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs.
Programs: Distributed food and staple products from our food pantry to 3,281 families. Families are eligible to receive food and staple products of their own choosing based upon current inventory and a points system. Food distributed includes nonperishable canned, boxed and shelf staple foods as well as recovered food from grocery stores and restaurants, and non-food items such as toiletries, paper products and baby diapers.
assessed need and reviewed supporting documentation (lease, late notice,disconnect notice, car repair bill) and paid rent, utilities, transportation and other emergency assistance bills directly to providers for 1,794 families. Provided 21 donated vehicles to families who appy and have special needs or circumstances.
provided free clothing and household items from our thrift shop to 1281 families. Families are eligible for 2 outfits of clothing per household member per month, 1 pair of shoes per household member per quarter and 1 coat per household member per year at no cost.
provided life skills classes including job readiness, ged tutoring, esol, computer training and benefits screening via our enrichment programs throughout the year to 1056 families. Distributed school supplies, warm coats, thanksgiving food and holiday gifts (four separate events) to over 661 families.
